This is fantastic.

I love how he uses this old Steinway in it's somewhat out of tune state to deliver such a amazing interpretation. of this Villa Lobs piece. Fantastic.

I need to go visit him soon. If only Nelson would let me.

I wonder why he takes those different tempos.

I don't say it's 'wrong' but, as it's not on the score, I wonder if it 'should' be done like that.

Nelson gives the piece contrasts which, in my opinion, is not bad, but necessary either.

Does anyone knows about a pianist named Magda Tagliaffero who recorded a wonderful LP most beautiful pieces of Villa-Lobos included this slow beauty?

Tagliaferro was one of the major Brazilian pianists for most of the 20th Century, especially noted for her performances of French music. There are some videos of hers on Youtube, really splendid.

Olá, você poderia colocar no ar uma cena desse mesmo dvd que você tirou essa peça de Villa-Lobos em que está o Nelson Freire e a Martha Argerich avaliando um músico ( não lembro o nome dele ), mas ele tocava a Ceciliana de Bach ... gostaria muito de rever essa música.
