I went to college at SOSU back in the 80's. We used to go wander around Ft. Washita at night sometimes. One night we saw a ghost walking down the wooden walkway on the south barracks. I can't believe it's gone. I hope they rebuild it.
@phil74501 I had encounters with a ghost once upon a time when our Confederate Unit camped there. We were in the kitchen of those old barracks and the guys were laughing it up around a fire they built in the fire place. I heard a knock at the door & thinking it was someone needing help I opened the door and no one was there. A few minutes later I started to go outside and as I approached that door it opened for me like a department store door. Whoever I let in, returned the favor.
Well, this video now shows a piece of the fort that is gone. At :40 is a picture of the south barracks which was consumed yestreday by a fire. That building was the spotlight of the post.
@stewie13 I am a Okie and from S.E. Oklahoma known as Little Dixie Oklahoma. This could be many folk who could be history buff like myself bring video cam to presevrved our history!
Very nice footage........I completely enjoyed it!

@phil74501 that place is haunted and I have spoken to the park ranger stationed there and he told me some very fun experiences with those spirits
