  • :( My dog tore her ACL (or so the vet has said). Can I ask...looking back, (if your dog really had a torn ACL) what treatment option would you choose?

  • Cori actually didn't have a torn ACL. She had bone cancer and had to be put down about two weeks after this video was done.

Cor was 12 years old and she had several medical issues aside from the cancer (which I didn't know about at the time of this video). I don't think torn ACL's are painful but they really limit the activity a dog has. At her age, I probably wouldn't have done the surgery. But if I had a young, relatively healthy dog I would get the surgery. Quality of life issue.

  • Well, in retrospect that video is misleading. At the time, the Vet suspected a torn ACL -- but it actually turned out to be bone cancer. Cori died peacefully in February 2008.

  • How is your dog now? How long has it been since the injury? Did you get surgery for your dog? I ask this because me dog has also recently torn his acl and I am trying to decide how to handle it.

    P.S. You have pretty dogs
