He's delved deep to find these songs but you just know, can taste it in the air that he hasn't even begun to dig with his spade in earnest... Am looking forward to this persons art for many years to come.
Saw him in Brighton on Wednesday - one of the best concerts I've ever been to! In the introduction to this song he explained "going west" is when his parents moved from Michigan to Colorado. Wonderful singer/songwriter.
Saw his show in Gothenburg this week.. Very good, and such a nice, humble man. I hope he goes far, he has some fantastic tunes, and this one is really great.
Feeling like Winona Ryder in 'that movie about vampires' who 'couldn't get that accent right', has to be the most beautiful metaphor for 'otherness' or feeling like one doesn't quite fit in this world. Lovely.

Is this song a joke? I found it quite amusing until I realised that he might not be joking.

Find his work with his former band The Czars, also. Brilliant.

Great melodies coupled to a wonderfully dry sense of humour.

and that bird will never change - the chords in the verse are inspired though esp. the Bb half dim. The piano on the edge of time.
