LOL! He's very rich! His company has been providing aircraft- helicopters, smaller planes & stuff like cargo 747s to the government since I was a kid. Those government ties seem to have served us well from the cool stuff like the perfect condition SR-71 Blackbird to the chance that we'll get one of the space shuttles when they retire!
I have such a hard time with the Youtube problems- it's like every now and then it shows videos from the last few days or weeks that I've already watched. Skipping through them I worry I'll miss one I didn't see.
Yeah, Evergreen's owner, who has aircraft doing various duties for the government-from developing a 747 air tanker for forest fires, to delivering cargos to isolated places in the world, etc., had a son who was an F-15 fighter pilot and he was the main force behind getting the Spruce Goose there and opening an air museum. After he died in a car accident his dad pushed ahead with the museum and it just keeps getting bigger and better!
I've been a member of the museum since it opened years back and we get notices for all kinds of stuff happening there. We had to get there before 4:45 a.m., when they'd close off the highway, so it was impressive how many people got up so early on a Sunday morning to come watch!
I know! With the Spruce Goose, and some other incredible air planes and space craft, that'll be something else so impressive there- and we may get one of the shuttles when they start to retire!
:D
Oh! I notice in the related videos to the right, they show an Evergreen 747 they use as a water tanker to fight forest fires! Can you imagine the amount of water it can drop on a fire, compared to what would be a tiny amount from a helicopter or smaller plane! I'd love to see one in action!
Yeah! I think it was such a great idea! And this is by the McMinnville airport- McMinnville is about 30,000 people in the middle of farming land, so the museum and now the water park are big here.
Plus my sister, sister-in-law & their kids have to drive about 200 miles up to Washington to go to the nearest water park now, so it'll be cool that we'll have one right in our backyard!
Such a beautiful plane really nice

That is a really cool idea for a waterpark.
By the way I just saw this video.
What I want to know is how in the world did the owner have enough money to purchase a 747?
