I've been zip lining and even did one where you had to plunge into 40 ft of water at the end and it was the most amazing fun I've ever had in my life. I do feel bad that it is small children having to do this. I watched this last night without the speaker and didn't realize it was small kids doing this. These kids are really some badasses! I hope my kids when I finally have some are brave like this!

The zip line looked stable. There are more dangerous ways of transportation than a zip line that's (get this) firmly anchored into the ground. Colombians aren't stupid. Give them more credit. @Rozax I don't know if you were serious... but it's actually much more sturdy than the guy talking gives it credit. The people of the village are wise not to try to carry more than they do already, but they -could- carry more weight if needed; that zip line isn't going to break any time soon. The biggest risk they run is not tying themselves on right, the pulley breaking, or not braking enough before they run into the tires at the end. There's really no need for a bridge; it's pretty safe as is.

It's a 2 hour hike through rocky, possibly unstable terrain. You have to either hike down with all your stuff or find a way to use the zipline.

I live in Colombia. We call this "canopy" and it's a popular "adventure sport" activity. There are hundreds of tourist spots where you pay to do this so I don't see what's so terrifying about it. Also, the cable is not rickety. The voice-over guy wins the drama-queen, sensationalizing loser award.
