they shouldnt charge that lady i mean it wasnt really her fault it came unhictched i mean even if she didnt put it on right its not like she meant to kill anyone if the people werent hurt in the crash she wouldnt have been charged im sure its kinda messed up how that happens jail should be for people who commit murders on purpose not people who merely made a mistake
For the Record, If the US applied the simple standards used in Europe for all class of trailers, there would not be this issue of retards regardless of skill killing others.
All trailers in Europe come with brakes on all wheels, plus a safety handbrake on the tongue to prevent a runaway if it's disconnected.

When I returned to US to locate dealer, all brake options were removed that were standard in Europe.
Secondly, if tow vehicle is under size for the total load, that person should loose their license, and fined heavily.
If in doubt loading trailer, leave the space behind the axles free of load.
A quick test, if you can pick up the tongue of loaded trailer, you are loading it wrong, and the possibility of loss of control is high vs putting more weight on the tongue.
