i was hiking a bit about 5 months ago and i had seen this video before i had gone out and i had gotten lost thank goodness i had some string a knife and other neccesary tools i had used this trap and gotten a rabbit i had learned to cook on an open fire by my great grandfather and i had been found after about a week living on plants and rabbits so bless your soul you had made this video

I was just working on a homemade slingshot while watching this video, and got wondering if a short piece of latex band or tubing might work as a good substitute for the bent limb or rock? Tie some cordage to each end of a short piece of latex, one end tied to a limb, the other to the trigger. Just a thought.

I tried this style snare and I have to say it works quite well. I did a proof of concept with a fiberglass rod and then tried it out with bamboo. The bamboo one had an opossum in it this morning. This was the first time I have ever tried making any kind of snare. I have the vids of my proof of concept and the opossum uploaded to my page now.

great video, tho i find its better to have the loop over the trigger bar (stick) not under it, i have found that it will catch what every sets it off at least 30% to 50% more then when its under the trigger stick. just something to think about and great work!
