  • "Awwww...all out of ammo?" *Smack*

  • Best Sci-Fi Movie ever.

  • I liked the fact that this movie was really serious in comparison to the other editions from the series.

It was pretty epic all those years ago.

  • Love this movie and song. I hope they have this on blu ray.

  • @spazzdineveryway Yeah its on blu ray

  • This is the sound of the 90s anime style. EPIC.

  • whats the title? can someone tell me

  • @whateverwhenever11 making of a cyborg

  • @jstone0005 oh thanks

  • Is that Justin Beiber singing?

  • i know this kid, he doesn't want to watch ghost in a shell because he thinks anime is ugly.

i should slap him for that.

  • Such an iconic movie. So many layers to it... By far, my favorite movie of all time.

  • i love the song! it's awesome

  • Wonderful anime & song...Kenji Kawai at his best....

  • TO~ YO~ MU~ NA~ RI~ !

  • Anyone capable of translating the lyrics?

  • @MrMihales When you are dancing, a beautiful lady becomes drunken.

When you are dancing, a shining moon rings.

A god descends for a wedding

And dawn approaches while the night bird sings.

God bless you. God bless you.

God bless you. God bless you.

  • i absolutely dont know jap language. but i can sing every word in this song))))

  • This movie contained some of the most philosophical statements I have ever heard. I didn't get the part when we see the puppet master when the cops are about to raid a house and the dude stares right at them through the agent's binoculars. As you see in the Matrix, Neo is able to destroy agent Smith only when he becomes and able to wipe out the "virus" of A. Smith. This supports what the puppet master was saying: I don't to copy as copies can be erased. I want to merge.

  • @freeman8201 where do you think the Wachowski brothers got many of their cool action scenes you see in the 1 Matrix movie from?? There are soo many similarities is not even funny. Its almost like they never told us that Masamune Shirow was sitting next to them while they were making The Matrix. After watching just about every single piece of video out there on the making of The Matrix Trilogy I can safely assume that The Wachowski brothers used many aspects of this animated movie.

  • boobs in a shell

  • maestros los JAPONESES...NO HAY CON QUE DARLES!!!!

  • Where can I download it ?

  • have a look on the Music Video "Ventura - My Friends" it's amazing rmx of this song

  • @gurukyle88

can you please post a link?

    BR

  • @suspect86 I wish, that'd be awesome to hear!!

  • So ... About 12 years ago there was a slammin drum-n-bass remix of this track. Anyone ever hear it? Anyone know where to find it?

  • Sinbd,,,

You're absolutely right!! No better anime to show them too!!

  • My little siblings just watched this movie and never in their life have they been more mesmerized and amazed by an anime than they were with this one. Even kids these days can learn to appreciate a good show.

  • "I mean, who knows what's inside our heads? Have you ever seen your own brain?"

  • I've wanted this song on CD or my i phone since I first watched the movie!!

  • i'd love to hear the original, but if it's really like this, they should have hired Yasunori Mitsuda. go check out Xenogears OST - One Who Bares Fangs at God.

you can find that here on youtube, would have been a bit more epic than this >.>

  • Thumbs up if you prefer the original untampered version of this film

  • @jamescolagiovanni, can you tell me how to get to that version please? i didn't know the one i watched could be an edited version!!!

  • @jamescolagiovanni did they release another version of this film that was altered? I seen part two and disliked it. I never watched the series yet.

  • @jamescolagiovanni way to get top comment.... that was so cheating lol BUt you and this song make the laughing man proud!

  • @jamescolagiovanni What version is the tampered version? I saw the English dub I guess. Is it different from the original Japanese?

  • @jamescolagiovanni I like the one with Justin Beiber

  • deadmau5 - Intelstat

  • my favorite song ever :3

  • anyone got a mediafire link?

  • Watched this film the other day for the first time. Hell I watched both this and Innocense right after each other and they're probably my favourite films at this moment.

  • E P I C !!!

  • I prefer the 1995 anime all the way

  • I am 15 years old

Unlike most teens listening to Kesha and Other famous singers that use autotune. I find myself going back and listening to these amazing songs.

Is that wrong? I feel so different.

  • @pungentstench91 In terms of media, your generation is growing up and a lot of bland media and a hellova lot of remakes, redo, reboot etc.

    It's cool to be different.

  • @pungentstench91 Stay different, kid.

  • @pungentstench91 dont worry, your on the right path to your 'self'. Hell you can even spell !!! Most kids your age I wonder how they can communicate with each other nowdays. I dont know, I pride myself of having an extensive vocabulary which is nothing more like having a big tool box for the job.

  • GITS and :SAC are the only anime I really enjoyed watching. Its very original and deep as fuck. I'm not typically an anime fanboy, but this anime holds special place.

  • @luckyStrike89ru People like to abuse the word "anime" in all directions. In the end they are just animated movies, and movies are stories. Just like most stories in this world, most of anime is pretty much crap.

  • am i correct in thinking that the Tachikomas are singing this? because they sound very similar to this

  • this track is quite haunting

  • classic movie and love the song...

  • As far as i know the music is inspired by traditional japanese music using this sort of voices, drums and jingles - don't take me wrong doesn't make it any less good

  • kusanagi could be the next female solid snake

  • i dont know why but this reminds me of resident evil 2 for some reason

  • Anime in general is not done for children.

  • The Movie the music the concept... it truly was the beginning of a totally new vision in anime! Yoko Kanno is a Jazz Goddess(!) as well as one genius composer! I hope she does this all the days of her life ... and only with total joy!

  • @TheFugdabug no yoko did not perform this. this was by kenji kawaii

  • GHOST

  • @csynn @Stewker

    Well said.

  • bewbs

  • when I first played this through my speakers, it started raining. and then when it was over it stopped. and i was like" Damn, this is a good ass song!"

  • People who say cartoons are for kids are wrong. There are cartoons for every age spectrum. That doesn't stop me from watching kids TV all day though, I fucking love Adventure Time!

  • At first listening I fell in love with "Making Of Cyborg". This is a pure masterpiece. Beautiful and full of joy song. And what's the most interesting, it is a wedding song. To me it has much deeper meaning. And I really like its lyrics:

When you are dancing, a beautiful lady becomes drunken. When you are dancing, a shining moon rings. A god descends for a wedding And dawn approaches while the night bird sings. God bless you

  • LYRICS ! A ga maeba, kuwashime yoini keri

A ga maeba, teru tsuki toyomu nari

    Yobai ni kami amakudarite,

    Yoha ake, nuedori naku,

    Tookamiemitame

  • Image is so typically 90s like.

  • Absolutly genious !

  • God, this song gives me the chills. Actually creeps me out in a very awe-inspiring way. It sounds melodramatic, but the way the singers voices combine...ugh.

  • @HeckYeahImShort

is it beautiful because it's terrifying....

or is it terrfying because it's beautiful?

a strange paradox adds to the making of a fantastic score to compliment an amazing movie?

  • Well knowing that the lyrics are for proposal/marriage, I suppose the song with the movie makes ore sense, since it was a marriage of sorts between the puppet master and the major, human and AI.

  • Deadmau5 used the lyrics in this song for a sweet as hell song. Its called intelstat on the album get scraped. Worth a listen to.

  • 9 people had their ghosts hacked..

  • only reason i watched the credits for this movie!!

  • Just pure magic, beautiful movie, beautiful music

  • @RemovdSande11

Not for anime, but what about Nobuo Uematsu? He tends to have a lot of variety, and the large part of his compositions are good.

  • is that a guy with boobs?

  • @KunalSharma51 GTFO

  • @VincentBrooke1 lol :) you tell him

  • is it just me or at 3.00 they say "nachos" :D?

  • @Danarogon 3:00 sorry :P

  • Bless ghost in the shell and it's creators. a peice of animation exspressing emotion and reason well also admitting to the understanding of not knowing!

truely an art i will forever hold high and loved, wishing others to understand it's impact and nature

  • The composer of this song is a genius!

  • @ozawa660 AGREE!!

  • @mikelwagon i wouldnt really say so. kenji has a few good pieces but it seems that all the songs he wrote are very similar. if you ever watched ip man then you can tell that the score is VERY similar to that of Ghost in the Shell

  • @WalrusesGunWild So he is not a genius??

  • @mikelwagon well yea... cant call him a genius. a genius to me would be james newton howard or hans zimmer. not saying that kenji kawaii is a bad composer. though i really like the GITS intro music he wrote

  • @mikelwagon

sorry to break your dream but there are NO genius music composers left in the world (the ones that are, are either dieing or have just died), especially not for Anime music xD I do agree however that this is one of the best anime intro's I have EVER seen, including the music.

  • @WalrusesGunWild

Oh well, What can one say, It sure beats Danny Elfman.

  • @WalrusesGunWild If it's similar to this particular piece then that makes sense....This is actually based on a traditional Japanese wedding march (I know it sounds a little eerie for a wedding but it's true) so there may be similarities if Kenji based the music for 'ip man' on traditional pieces too (I've never seen it so I wouldn't know).... Anyway....The composer is by far a genius. End of story.

  • @ozawa660 NO DOUBT!

  • @ozawa660 PURE GENIUS!

  • @ozawa660 yes mate it is brilliant!

  • @ozawa660 agree

  • @ozawa660 A genius? No dude... He is Kenji Kawai, and he's a god.

  • It doesn't matter how many times I hear it, I get choked up the first time they hit the 7-th split.

  • this music scarrys me , it remembers me the scaries things in japan

  • this is really good cartoon movie...

  • making of a cyborg is the actual video and is better(same music)

  • Nice quality too ! Really, The bass is awesome.

  • Bring tears to my eyes that steven spielberg got the movie rights and is planning to make a real life action movie of gits

  • @bla2000 I bet my cock it's gonna suck ass.

  • @bla2000 What! No way is that true? Blasphemy

  • This anime i better than 75% science fiction shitty movies !

  • @wirtualnapolska1990 Despite of your spelling, you are right!

  • oh man i love the subtle strings that come in for the repeated verse... SOOO OMINIOUS! this music is soo surreal! it just pulls u in and encapsulates u

  • manga's like these need to be made, all the newer ones dont have the story or the length as these did

  • @Lichbane1 yeah... the newer anime and manga are insane... like everyone's been infected iwht the ADULT SWIM virus. disgusting. GITs is truly art, philosophically, scientifically, emotionally. Oh yeah babe.

  • its not cartoons...its anime duh

  • i`ve lived in japan for 10 years but lyrics are written with ancient japanese so

    i cant understand some parts.

  • I've heard a hardstyle remix of this. Does anyone know what it's called? Something with 'kyo' & 'shi'.

  • A pure classic *_*

  • GITS inspired the Matrix...so you know its OFFICIAL!

  • i was like, three when i first saw this movie. nostalgia overload

  • @KARASUadw lal, did you even understand wtf the movie was about even? :D

  • @luckyStrike89ru Had to ask a lot of questions at first, but as I got older it was easier to grasp

  • the masterpiece!

  • The Artist that came up with this music is a master at his craft and the movie WOW !!!!

  • i used to think anime and manga was for weirdo emo/goth nerd types until i watched this. i was dumbfounded. i gave the DVD to anyone who'd bother to listen to me rave about it

  • I love this movie=-)

  • my favourite manga movie

  • THIS MUSIC CREEPS ME OUT ! STOP

  • most awesome movie ever!

  • I recommend listening to this track in surround sound with a subwoofer....It is awesome. I don't speak Japanese but you can get a feeling or vibe of what they are saying. The concept of the technology that is used in "Ghost" is not too far away. It won't happen in our lifetimes but it really makes you think of the possibilities. A sort of techno immortality of sorts

  • @rhenken09 You do not know what the future is like to say it will not happen in our lifetime is absurd. The technology in Ghost in the Shell is old news really. The idea of cyborgs and robots was around before the creators of Ghost in the Shell was even conceived of. The only thing they did was take ideas that was already out there and turned it to their own.

  • @InfinityWard312 Actually if I am not mistaking the first movie to have a cyborg, a robot that looked like a human, a woman robot is Metropolis (1926).

  • @Jozsef86330 Metropolis is such a good film, the only problem is there are about 20 edits all with their own merits. Such a fucker to choose the best and I've only seen about 8 of them.

  • @InfinityWard312 Didnt the commentary or something said tht scientists are going to use this as thier ideas and plans for the future?

  • @o0Lynna0o Everybody says that, I want to see it actually happen.

  • At the beginning of the movie, when they were making the main character into the cyborg and this music was playing in the background, there was something about it...I don't know what, but it mesmerized me.

  • 15 years later, GITS is still one of the top notch anime movies

  • 8 people did not have their ghost hacked by the puppet master.

  • for people who say cartoons are for kids, you have no idea how far the rabbit hole really goes.

  • @csynn Not a cartoon, but you're right for the most part.

  • @NOCblocker I know this comment is three weeks old, but for those who he's referring to, who think cartoons are for kids, this IS a cartoon as far as they're concerned.

  • @csynn

    Very well said. :D

There are cartoons and then there are animated pieces of art. Ghost in The Shell is the latter. People that are unable to see, FEEL, and understand the difference, are sad individuals.

  • @Stewker well cartoons are instilled in people brains as being childish as we grow up wathcing them on kids programming, so when people think thier childish, its because they were brought up litterally that way, so its understandable.

  • Comment removed

  • @csynn I wish I could fave your comment more than once.

  • @csynn agreed

  • @csynn were all mad here.

  • @csynn Exactly. Last time I checked, shows/movies like GITS, South Park, Elfen Lied, Metalocalypse, NGE, and Ugly Americans are not kids shows.

  • @CabbageNappa but they're not animated pieces of art. =]

  • @csynn They are too blind. Even if they went all the way trough they wouldn´t be able to see trough the looking glass, only seing an empty reflection of themselves asking "who am i looking at?"

  • @csynn

awesome matrix reference. even the matrix was inspired by this. i totally agree with you man.

  • @csynn WINNIE THE POOH.

    FUH EVA.

  • i really like this theme it is just so really........

  • Kenji Kawai is one of the best anime composers around.

  • @sec0ndevolution your right man i agreed with you

  • so fucking epic I just shat my pants

  • @Azazelxdan Thats not usually a symptom of exposure to epicness. You should probably consult a physician

  • I've yet to come across a person who did not like this movie. I, myself think the Japanese version, with English subtitles, may have had better appeal, as I find the English speech rather annoying, but not as annoying as in the series. This is the only Manga story I ever liked, and highly recommend it (subtitled version of the series rocks).

  • @alphamongrel At least the dubbing was done by a good group and not an efortless anime killer like 4kids or the people who did cardcaptors. XD

  • Very haunting song to an awesome anime movie. I saw this movie back in 96 at 15 after seeing a good review on it when it came out in theaters by Siskle and Ebert and great reviews in magazines and in the library's internet. I had an anime addiction thanks to watching Akira the year before and i bought this, it rocked my world like Akira did. This movie is where The Matrix comes from.

  • i loooooooooove this song!

  • I love the video sequence from the movie that goes with this song. Very gratuitous and very beautiful.

  • Great music, but I think it just doesn't have the same impact without the intro sequence too. Something very dramatic and meaningful about those visuals... life, creation, science... the form of a woman, which nourishes life, but synthetic. Slightly disturbing yet compelling. Again, great music, but not as interesting without the animation sequence.

  • @meganite03 ,I remember the impact it produced on me when I saw first time the opening sequence. I must agree with you.

  • NAYMAHHHUU of this song please

  • @humanzeez4realz title:making of cyborg artist: kenji kawai

  • @mikelwagon

the artist is Kenji Cute? lol

  • Gibson's ideas of cyberpunk came out in the early 1980's. And it took 10 years for a movie like this one to come out after the idea was first created. And it was still so ahead of its time that the Matrix, considered to be visionary by Americans, copied heavily from this film.

This is good proof of the maxim that it takes about 20 years for a idea / theme to be properly shown in other forms of popular media (movies, games, etc.).

  • @pratt123 Slightly longer than that. Sit down with a copy of the bible some time and madlib in the life of Neo. I'll grant you that the visual themes come from cyberpunk and good old H. R. Gieger (sp?), but the story of Neo's life and times is..... older. All they've done is change the nature of the creator behind the reality.

  • @Harleagh

And would you compare The Matrix to Dune? nearly the similar storyline.

  • @pratt123

the movie is based on a 80's manga though

  • @Terrorkarel Yeah but the manga was not as rooted in the question of what is "real" in a cyberpunk world as the movie was. I give credit to the manga for its quick adaption of current ideas (as I mentioned, it takes 20 years for media to properly understand new ideas) but the movie does a better job simply because it is 10 years later. Predictably, the second movie (2004?) does even better of a job simply because everyone now has watched the first movie and its Hollywood copycat, the Matrix.

  • Japanese people like boobies xD..

  • @lyue1996 who doesn't?

  • @lyue1996 I'm not Japanese, and I love boobies as well.

  • *goosebumps*

    awsome

  • Anyone has this mp3 for this song? :( really like this and can't find anywhere else.. sobs...
