  • Hi, that brand is the "drop clutch" of the video? excellent explanation I liked the way how to explain precisely didactic and all ... thanks!

  • Cool thanks

  • Thanks dude! The video may not have been great, but the lesson was plain and clear \m/

  • Ey. He sound like he be Irish.

  • @dheim293

Scottish, but yeah my voice absolutely sucks in this. I had like no confidence and I went through a wee phase of barely talking to anyone so I wasn't too great in this indeed. I will probably do another one soon. But hopefully anyone that was confused got the point with the visuals.

  • @MarkRiches You helped me understand how it works lol. Now, I'm a beginning drummer, I don't know all the names to parts, but when you buy the new drop clutch, do you have to replace the base to the bottom hat with one you bought with the clutch?

  • @MarkRiches I don't understand why you say that your voice sucks in this! I am Brazilian and understood everything you say! Thanks for the explanation!

  • thanks :) 5/5

you said that what u had to say, thnx

  • SHITE

  • hey, how much are you looking at for a decent drop clutch model?

  • @MarkRiches

    Just messing with ya :)

  • Check out the Coady Clutch / Coady Combo from Billdidit

  • @jmenchefski

I agree with this, I'm very interested in that product!

  • How tight is the lever? Can you hit it with a stick or something?

  • @Akr0bat

yeah you can - it depends on the clutch really. Mine is a bit crappy, but if you had a nice one you could probably whack it with a stick. It isn't very tight at all.

  • can you set it so the hihats are splashy sounding or just tight shut or open?

  • @lucci97

Do you mean splashy in its "open" state or when you have released the lever so it is "shut"?

That's very easy to do open, you can set it to take the hats as high as you like, just like any clutch

Not possible to do that in its "shut" state though, but there are different types of clutch you can get for that. Look up Tama's Cobra Clutch, that lets you set how loose they are when they're closed

  • @MarkRiches when its shut but its loosely shut, sorry lol hard to explain:/

  • @lucci97

well yeah, you might want to look into the Cobra Clutch for that :)

  • @MarkRiches haha alright thanks for the help dude

  • freakin genius!!!!

  • Check out the Coady Clutch by Billdidit.

  • How do triggers work?

  • not sure how to do a video on that one :P

triggers basically measure when the drum is struck and produces a sound that is the exact same every time, no dynamic. useful for super fast bass drumming in metal where you want every stroke to sound perfectly identical.

id probably find it useful as my left leg sadly isn't hitting as hard as my right, so there's a bit of a sound difference there. gotta work on that.

  • Very Helpful!!!

    Thank you!!!

  • any time good sir. don't suppose you have any ideas for new useful videos?

  • No I dont think so, but If I have an Idea I will tell you Ok???

  • or....you can buy another hi-hat. lol

    Anyway, nice video. Good explanation.

  • this is a little cheaper :P

and it really depends, what if you only need the clutch for one song? is it worth carrying another £300 to a gig in the form of a new hi hat and stand?

ooooooooh, think about it whilst I go sleep.

  • lol I'm just trolling. True. It's cheaper. That's why most world top drummer don't use it where money is not the concern.

But it's a really really nice piece of tool. Especially for us, where money...is...a concern :(

  • Very helpful video.

    Answered my questions.

  • how would someone double bassing have time to reset the clutch?

  • @cd852456

just practise really. you can get really quick at just hitting the lever, or even improvise so that you're only needing one hand while double bassing. maybe to hit a crash. you can use your other hand to bring the hats back down

  • have planet z cymbals

  • @HOPExxDRUMMER

    just the hats

  • Thank You SO much!

  • @number1percussion

    very welcome good sir

  • that's a smart device! and good video too, it was very helpful.

  • @777Ripzone

    thanks, nice of you :)

  • Brilliant invention.

  • Dude, thanks a lot for the video!!! Now I know how that thing works.

    Keep up te good work!!!

  • @joaopfer
