I wrkd at a call cntr that had a cancellation dept, and we had to transfer any1 to them. the agents were paid 2$ bonus per save (i heard of paychks having an xtra $800 bonus for this) microsoft demanded we do pretty much what john is doing in order to save the account. so after going thru the whole spiel and an exhausting call, the agent would finally agree to cancel the account, but NOT actually cancel it and instead would mark it as "saved"

AOL has no business in knowing user's history, computer problems having DSL, cable or high-speed Internet or any reason whatsoever. a simple cancel request is all what AOL needs. AOL is trying to force people not to cancel service.

I feel for you man Dell had me on hold for 6 hour and trasfered me to diffrent centers finally i became really mad and began cussing off a storm the dumb asses would put me on hold until i was done cussing out, and she would say "were sorry m'am but you cant return your computer we don't have an address to return material." (yeah whatever) my computer broke down 7 in lessthen 6 months dont' get a Dell they don't care about anything just numbers.

They`re supposed to do this, it`s actually in their training. They have to make as many saving attempts as possible. I know because I use to work with them (not for), abnd most of them were total idiots. Also they got in a huge lawsuit because of this about 2 years ago.

I couldn't believe it was so hard for me to cancel my trial account so I youtubed it and wow. Only difference in my experience is that the lady on the line gave me her personal email and asked me to email her for anything. As soon as she confirmed that my account was terminated i threw her email away.

I also tried to cancel the account and they kept me on the phone for like an hour. And they guy started asking me questions,Do yo want to keep it. No I don't want to keep it,cancel. DO you now have highspeed?NO! Then how do you use the computer. I'm Like you fucking asshole cancel the account. Then finally after 2 hours he let me off the phone and said it was canceld. Later on about a month later I get a bill saying I owe AOL $300.00
