A question about the AK-74u and the Famas as I saw previously. Wasn't the Famas and Ak-74u used in the Vietnam war? Because that war was during the 60's. Am I right or did they just put the weapon in Black Ops for fun?

Hey guys, when playing MW3 mutiplayer somtimes i come up against a guy who hasriot  shield except unlike when i or a few others have riot shield he is not completely unprotected when he switches to side arme he looks like hes got a bullet proof or something does anyone know why this is?

I use the riot shield in games such as flag defender and other objective based games.. Other than that it's pointless.. Used to be good, use c4 with it but even that takes forever to get in the game.. Using some kind of conclussion grenade with it sucks too now.. Since it takes forever to throw it there for you are dead before you even had chance.. You can't even hit someone with the shield because I either miss or don't hit.. It's a joke I tried to get the owned symbol for using riot shield i

ak 47 = austinove (i think its spelled that way) kalashnikov model 1947

ak 74 = ak carbine (smaller barrel)

aks 74u = stockless shorter barrel carbine (s and u stand for compact and stockless in russian. it is a carbine NOT a smg)

it was designed by Mikhail, Austinove is his brother. did some research the AK 47 models, AKS models, and all the others were designed to be ammo-modular. that was changed. also a bigger bullet generally has more powder. ignoring rotation, humidity, and other factors like gravity and wind a bigger charge + bigger projectile = more inertia = more accuracy and power. that is why most larger marksman rifles use a larger round (ignoring followup shot). and thats not even touching upon the barrel.

The Ak 74 Is not a SMG It Was Built because America Had Just Come out with the M16 to replace the Heavier caliber M14 The AK 74 is Just a Smaller caliber AK. the AK 74 Shoots the 5.45x39 as the m16 Shoots 5.56x45 a SMG Is designed to shoot a Pistol Round Such as 9mm .45 acp and so on

I've been using the riot shield in Search & Destroy, and it is an amazing weapon. In isolated combat you can totally dominate most other people who don't know how to face riot shields. I have a few videos on how easy it is to use, and am glad it is returning for MW3.

I think this series is more about telling us which guns are in the game, not as much doing a lot of research about the history of the gun and the bullet it fires ect. If you want extensive weapon guides when this does come out, theres a guy called XBOX Ahoy who does them and does them quite well. He does a lot of research on the guns he covers.

So you are right the ak74u does not exist and, it isn't a sub-machine gun despite the shared characteristics.
