Well....I like the echo-iness of your sound - wish you had better lighting for some of the shots...nice guitar work, especially in the second half....
do you like cro- mags? check out these bands : strike first (holland), deal with it (u.k.),teamkiller (germany) , skullcrusher , bitter end , foose, bloodclot! (u.s.a.)
@ZombieSolace I love metal and punk both equally. All the real metalheads I know are open minded. The problem is now hardcore is now all the poser metal crap like the devil wears prada, and those are the close-minded ignorant people.
@TheUndeadAnarchist I have nothing against new metal|hardcore fusions. Sometimes they do something that is worth enough (Between the buried and me). As you say, I believe too that true metalheads and true punks are open-minded. Here, I have seen true punks being gently and sharing cigarrettes with hardcoremo kids.
I LOVE " Age Of Quarrel", but I'll still give any of the material with John Joseph on vocals a listen. As for the latter stuff with Harley on vocals or the "Harley's War"....I won't even give a chance!!!
Just curious, did a lot of NYHC bands start off doing lots of screaming and tough yelling and then start this singing alternative radio rock terrible vocals to get more popular? Cause I believe some other bands did this...maybe nu metal spawned out of this idea. I dont know but its not that good.
@666Angelfuck - are u sure? this album came out in 1992. Faith No More's breakthrough album(The Real Thing) cameoutin 1989...andbesides that, FNM started in 1981 as Faith No Man. Cro Mags started in 1985.
there aint no bad cro mags records at all....they just kick ass....im a punk and although i fuckin love the age of quarrel lp i also have to say that this stuff is really fucking good...
Hare Krsna. You all rock, band and listeners! More glories to you! We're taking over this planet from the demoniac banksters. Do it. Chant Hare Krsna. (ACBSP)!
I would not call this Glam metal really. Though it is a depature for sure. Sounds more to me like say Kings X or something. In fact you could almot immagine that they would support Dream Theater who were starting to break out at this time. Anyway, I do not dislike this at all. I still own it. But I accept it is not Cro Mags as they are known. But they were just expressing I guess at the time. To each their own.
harley layed down tracks in and out of JJ's trying to mimic JJ's vocal attack, and at times he layerd them over each other, thats why you cant tell at times, any "OH YEAAAAHH" you hear is most definitely harley.
No doubt, I actually liked ALPHA OMEGA cuz in 92/93 i was still all about NYHC and AGE OF QUARREL is probably the best NYHC album ever, one of the best ALBUMS ever for that matter. Harley vs John i gotta say John comes out looking better, Harley is just way to fucking full of himself
What about Eric Casanova? He was my Friend;chewed up and spit out by cro-mags and iskcon, last time I saw him he was strung out and begging in Williamsburg, Bkln.
It was probably 1999 or 2000. I'd met Eric in San Diego in the late 1980's, He was a good friend, and it broke my heart to see him in such bad shape.I gave him $20,even though I'm sure it went to a score,it was all i could do. Shame on iskcon for not doing something to help someone who did so much service.
Damn that sux. it is pretty ironic that Harley was a junkie to the max when I was in high school. I went to school on the Upper West Side. We used to hang out at Sheep's Meadow or just "the meadow.' He used to be all over that place stoned out of his gourd. To top that off, a buddy of mine who got into hard drugs early on used to cop heroin and angel dust for him...and that is just the plain facts if you were around in 92/93. Wonder what's up with Eric now?
I hope he's OK. For all the "good" iskcon supposedly did, you got dropped like a hot potato, and were ostracized if you questioned the management AT ALL.
Well....I like the echo-iness of your sound - wish you had better lighting for some of the shots...nice guitar work, especially in the second half....
