as its made up of 2 cities i dont think you can argue that its the best city in europe. either pick buda or pest and use one to compare. i cant say glasgowedinburgh so you cant say budapest :)
and the reason for only showing Budapest that apart from the cities I mentioned, are famous ones are far away from Budapest (e.g. Pécs, Debrecen, Sopron). Also the great plain called Hortobágy is often left out, although it's incredible. You should spend more time in Hungary to take your time and discover things.
Love Hungary, and I'm sure everybody loves their country the most. You simply can't compare. That's true that Budapest is the biggest part of showing around. But it's also true that it's big, and it's famous places are far away from each other, so it takes up most of your time in Hungary. There are some lovely villages here too, tell your guide to leave out things that aren't neccesary and go to Szentendre, Pécs (it's a bit far...), Esztergom, Visegrád.

and the reason for only showing Budapest that apart from the cities I mentioned, are famous ones are far away from Budapest (e.g. Pécs, Debrecen, Sopron). Also the great plain called Hortobágy is often left out, although it's incredible. You should spend more time in Hungary to take your time and discover things.

Love Hungary, and I'm sure everybody loves their country the most. You simply can't compare. That's true that Budapest is the biggest part of showing around. But it's also true that it's big, and it's famous places are far away from each other, so it takes up most of your time in Hungary. There are some lovely villages here too, tell your guide to leave out things that aren't neccesary and go to Szentendre, Pécs (it's a bit far...), Esztergom, Visegrád.
