  • "Now I sleep with my mom".

These books make people revert to incest!

  • I remember goosebumps. Scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. lol. Probably would still scare me. I used to love being scared though, now I don't really care for it. R.L. Stine is awesome though.

  • I had an incredible collection of his books! I was a big fan of The Fear Street books and the reason I started to read and grew up watching Goosebumps and reading the books as well and his funny ones. He needs to push some people in the entertainment business to do a show on the Fear Street books. It'd be incredible to see a show taking place in Shadyside.

It'd be great to have kids of this generation watch something as great as Goosebumps, and Are you Afraid of the Dark? was

  • I was a huge fan when i was kid his books were the first ones that actually got me to read for fun

  • I STILL READ GOOSEBUMPS! I'M NOT A JUSTIN BIEBER OR LADY GAGA LOVER,I LOVE HIS BOOKS, AND HE'S MY IDOL (AHAH)!

  • Dude your my idol

  • i need to go ahead and get his mailing address

  • When I hear this man speak, I can't help but feel so inspired. R.L Stine and the Goosebumps series were a huge influence on my childhood. I'm absolutely honored and very lucky to have been born in 1992, so that I was able to enjoy the books and the tv show when I was still really young. Man, the feeling of nostalgia is awesome.

  • I remember when I was in elementary school, when we took trips to our little libary, I was always attracted to the scary side of the libary, and we always had to choose a book every week. My friends thought I was strange for reading R.L. Stine books (Goosebumps), they tried to read some of the books but they found them too scary. Now I read Stephen King's works. But I still remeber the good old days, more kids need to read Stine's books :D

  • @UndertakerMistress x2 R.L. Stine is the reason i read today, i have read a ton of his books when i was younger (now 23) and still have alot of them. i am also into the king now and am currently reading his novel "Desperation", literally just put the book down to get on here for a min. lol oh and i recommend "desperation" if you haven't read it yet!!

  • no one writes like r l stine no one

forget about stephen king r l stines better

  • @carleysweirdoworldx Stephen kings novels are far superior to r.l. Stine's books. but really you cant try to compare them because there aimed at different generations. r.l. stein's books are for a much younger crowd.

  • There's a reason I go on /x/, Stine.

There's a reason I took up the hobby of writing, and in the same vein, there is a percise reason why it is my passion.

There's a reason I found H.P. Lovecraft, there's a reason that I read for fun, and there's a reason why I have an obsession with the paranormal.

And it's all because of you, R.L. Stine. You are the reason I have grown to become what I am. Curse you and thank you, but I shall always respect your writing.

  • RL Stine is awesome! :D Goosebumps rocks!! Haunting Hour is good too! :):)

I love his writing. I'm trying to read a lot of his books before Halloween just for that extra thrill

  • Thumbs up if you the r l Stine ventriloquist

  • @CarlieBethSix: Given their odd animosity, who else was practically expecting Carly & Steve to start dating if the stories had continued on through their high school/young adult years? XD But seriously, the Goosebumps & Fear Street books are brilliant, which makes the respective TV series for the former equally brilliant.

  • "Really scary & very funny", just like The Haunted Mansion & Terror of Terror from Disney, cheesy puns from John Kassier aka The Cryptkeeper, Goosebumps' own twist endings overall, etc.

Funnily enough, Mr. Stine--for all his weirdness--wrote for 80s Nick puppet series, Eureeka's Castle.

  • I recommend reading The Hobbit by Tolkien. It's a really good book.

  • Two people obviously don't know how to read.

  • hey dothisdothat321 im a kid and this is all i read i dont even bother to touch other hannah montana books!but i gess there good but goosebumps and everything rl stine does is amazing!

  • i read only one of the books and i got to say its pretty good even tho i only red one out of all of thm

  • Any1 else read R.L. Stine books as a kid and grew up to read Stephen King? Long live imaginative, dark storytelling!

  • fuck im 18 and i still love his books. its very easy but it brings back my childhood. invasion of the bodysqueezers is the shit

  • His books are way better than The Bible. Why don't all of us who read his books back in the day start a religion on Him :)

  • I remember reading Goosebumps as a kid. They were my favorite books. In fact I have crates full of them in storage. Lol. Since then I've moved up to Stephen King, but R.L. Stine got me into reading. I'll always be grateful for that. Thanks R.L. Stine!

  • I was named after The Haunted Mask. Carly Beth<3 But I spell it Carlie Beth :D

  • I'm 27 and for me as a kid, the Goosebumps books were such an important part of getting me into reading. I know aspire to be a writer myself and this man was a large part of that. The first 20 or so are very dear to me. What a guy...

When it comes to understanding that kids can and WILL in fact embrace the dark and the sinister, this man is possibly second only the Roald Dahl.

  • goosebumps is the shit, you dont hear about kids reading that gold these days, now its justin beieber hannah montanna bullcrap

  • @dothisdothat321 i agree hate hannah montanna she talentless back then it was better

  • @dothisdothat321 Thank God Hannah Montana ended finally

  • @dothisdothat321 I hope you do realize you're comparing books to pop stars. What, are we going to compare current childrens litterature to pop stars of the 90's too?

  • I've been having alot of nostalgia lately and remembered this guy and his books as well as the series. This guy I think was my biggest introduction to the horror genre and got me hooked on it along with his books as a kid. His Goosebumps were great fun and his Fear Street ones were actually pretty scary (I mean the saga ones). We need to have a movie series off of one of the books he made. The Goosebumps T.V. series was good but I'd like to see more for his other books too.
