I would have to concur on the notion of it being mentally deficient. I agree because the worship of a character who hates and wants to eternally damn humankind is a waste of effort. If Satan is a Bible character, then all the Bible says about Satan is his backstory. His backstory is the hatred of humankind and the wish for their eternal suffering. I could not worship or admire such a person. But, to each their own. People sometimes grow out of these things anyways.

@MartyredxMaiden It is true that black metal Theatres des Vampires talked about Satan, sometimes a little too much (99% of the lyrics from Bloody Lunatic Asylum were Satanic, and at a certain point it became disturbing and boring) but as years passed the satanic fad slowly faded away, Suicide Vampire had only 2 satanic songs, Nightbreed of Macabria presented Lucifer as an original fictional character and from Pleasure and Pain onwards there's no more satan/lucifer to be found in their lyrics :)
