I own Ultra 2, have the CD ROM Disk, activation code, etc. IT SUCKED that Adobe bought these guys out. They supported their product FOR FREE. Adobe charges for support programs. The virtual sets collections were almost $400.00 each, now you can get all 4 for under $300.00. I have Vegas, VisionLab and After Effects, but this program is great if you get a reference shot of the greenscreen 1st. One click and done! Perfect Key. Cast shadows or reflections with a click. It's cheap now too.
I don't get Adobe's MO on this. Great program, and could be nicely developed.
Hey, is there a way to get two separate green screen shots into one scene in Ultra (besides two people being G screen shot simultaneously)? I've been using it and realized that I can put fifty people into a scene using AE and haven't figured out a way to get more than one in Ultra.
I haven't found a way to do that. AE has layers and Ultra doesn't. You have to render the scene and bring the next layer in one at a time. For that, AE is much better. But I'm usually using the virtual sets with the tracking shots, so Ultra makes that easier than adjusting every layer in AE to get the same effect.
The only multiple layers in Ultra are the TV screens.
@sandcrest what program would you use to crop them and save them so you can put them into ultra. When I put 16x9 footage into ultra and drop a virtual set in, Ultra resizes my 16x9 footage to match the virtual set.
Yeah, it does the same to me. I realized I should just shoot my green screen footage in 4:3, edit it in Ultra at 4:3, then go into Sony Vegas or Premiere and resize it (basically cropping the top and bottom) in the editing program. Vegas has a button for it, but I do it manually in Premiere.
It's funny because Ultra gives you the choice of 4:3 or 16:9 for a new project, then just places the virtual background in the center without filling the screen. Hope this helps a little.
Unfortunately, after Adobe bought Serious Magic (the company that makes Ultra) they discontinued it. It's an amazing program, and you can FXHome's CompositeLab to do much of the same stuff, but the virtual sets that were such a great part of it were exclusive to Ultra. I know people who are searching Ebay for a used copy. Sorry.

@jasongunning2468 If you look on Google, you'll find a couple of good ones, like virtualset and virtualsetworks.

the other shame is that the virtual sets are only 4 by 3. they wont do 6x9.

I found, though, that there is enough room on the top and bottom to crop them to 16:9 and still have them look good.
I always wondered why they put so much room at the top and bottom; maybe this is why.
