  • I searched for this piece played really on the G string, this is beautiful!

  • I do think it's better to play it with a cello than with a violin.

  • gives me goosebumps every time i hear it.... i would learn the Cello just to be able to play this song!

  • Amazing - I found myself holding my breath at the end...

  • you can even feel that they are LIVING the song, is just amazing

  • very touching

  • Loving Bach is easy because he's beautiful

  • As an instrument, the Cello is beyond beautiful...

  • woah...so beautiful..i wonder how long it'll take me to be able to play this good >< amazing he knows the song by heart

  • Beautiful!

  • big like!

  • This tune always pulls on my heart strings.

  • I was kinda stressed out from work ealier today.. now I'm positively relaxed after hearing this...: )

  • Muito bons, ambos! They are so good!

  • I like it very very much

  • I've seen robots playing with more heart!

  • The more often I listen to it, the more beautiful and intens it appears to be. No such performence of Bach's Air on Cello on the Internet. Thank you for posting!

  • Really beautifullllll....... I love it

  • It's soothing and really touching but i do not know why. Guess that's why it's a great piece. Thank you.

  • Lovely...

  • Semplicemente fantastico.

  • heavenly but the piano plays it to straight forwarts i find it disturbing :) need a bit playing around the measure

  • Heavenly... This is like ice cream in my ears.

  • too bad the recorded sound is not the best quality. it has the church effect

  • 13.04.2010 sejmPoland

  • Uau! Beautiful! BRAVO!

  • now THAT'S what i call tremolo.

  • this is called "on a G-string" because after transposing in another than the original scale you can play the whole piece on the g string of the violin (that it was first written for)

  • amaizing,beautiful..greetings from mexico

  • Oops nevermind.

  • R u sure this is on the g string? Because I tried playing it and my fingers were WAY higher on my cello than his. If anything it's on the a string. Just saying.;)

  • @theofficialkirstif The "G String" part probably refers to the scale that it uses, which is G Major.

  • Bach es lo mejor que ha existido.

  • stupid piano is too aloud!!

  • @IMusicFanatic

    Why? It's beautiful

  • @cellistme

If you appreciate this type of music you would appreciate the wide variety of musical instruments and how they accompany each other. The piano is great as well as the strings. Pity you are unable to verify that for yourself.

  • is it me or is that celloist crying from his own playing? If he's not he's really close to it.

  • The piano is horrible

  • This video purifies my soul

    Thank you

  • I'm not an expert on cello, but as a martial arts practitioner and drummer i find his control incredible. truly amazing!

  • nice performance, but this member of the violin family looks far better between the knees of a woman.

  • It's a prayer!

  • @luis1261

  • I wish the cellist had a better piano accompaniment.

  • As a violinist, I still prefer this piece on cello.

  • god his vibrato is beautiful

  • MARAVILHOSOOOOOOO.

  • mama mia...

  • Talk about music that is beautiful to anyone, and sounds good if played on any instrument. This is why i want to pick up the cello

  • Music to kill a whale too :)

  • Marvelous....ow I long for the Old Days....

  • Soul be cleaning ... ...

  • Was the guy crying...

O piano, principalmente, me passa estar "desafinado".. será possível?

  • Life should be like Bach, although the other strings was broke, we still need to finish our best melody by one string

  • May I have the notes of this song for cello??

    I'd appreciate soooo much....

  • @bibulop You should be able to find the notes by ear, but I can help you. As far as I can tell, all the notes are on the A string. By the way, I am not a cellist.

  • Makes me cry in the most relieving way possible ...

  • Makes me cry in the most relieving way possible ...

  • amazing.

  • nice :)

    I like it

  • I am sorry, but Misha, you ruined these song for me.

These is the only version of Air I can listen since I found these... Nothing compares to it and I have been addicted ever since I first heard it.

  • u both r amazing

  • great performance

  • great performance, Misha!!! Love your tone and expressiveness, congrats!

    Catalin

  • Its.........amazing!!! Thank You Misha .....When do You come to Holland ? ....I wanna see you live performing

  • i've never liked classic songs like this.. but now i feel it

  • bad sound, good interpretation.... master Bach could love it...

  • Just because the song title is "Air On G String" doesn't mean all the notes are going to be on G string. It's not like there's only one G. You can play G on all four strings.

  • @YukixHeart Well, why do you think it's entitled Air on the G string? The original version by Bach is only Air. Then it was transposed, making it possible to play all notes on the G string (in a violin). That's why it was named that way. Get your facts right.

Yes you can play G, but on different octaves, yes? And not all octaves of G's can be played on just any string, mind you.

    What ignorance.

  • @khira07 Umm mind yourself? Even if I got the facts wrong, you don't have to put it in such a harsh way.

  • ................................

  • excellent

  • This is "The Gift" I think... I am happy to listen to their Air on the G String, Aria .

Thank you so much both of Misha Quint .

  • perfect, beautiful, awesome, super, magnificent, what else?

  • perfect

  • Beautiful. Thank you.

  • Kill Point 1013

    :(

  • @wHatAppEk Sng je ye kau ckp nk tukar awek,ish.. Cuba cari erti setia, baru kau tau erti err..haaa,pandai2 je la kan kau fhm.. Dahla, tnya la Rx ke nurliani ke.. Dorg lg pro dlm bab2 ni.. Ni..pegi tnya budak mcm aku =.='

  • Nice and slow...! I will remember that and the slow, Russian-style phrase build up to the middle of the piece. And finally, a retake up bow at the end! Thank you, Misha!

  • Why is he only using one string?

  • @homie0187 its called air on G string, so i guess hes just using the g string?

  • @shawil12

Yes. He is only playing on the g-string, which, in layman terms is the thickest string on the instrument and produces the lowest sound. That's why this is different from just Air. It's Air on the G String.

  • @BlackfyreRoy Hes playing on a, b and rarely the g string. Actually he may have not even played on the g-string but the pianist is playing g a lot.

  • @eagler36

b string? there is no b string on a cello.

  • @tigereyes5 D string, obviously that was a typo, sorry

  • @homie0187 hes playing more than 1 string lol ?

  • Misha, Misha Bravo! Bravo!

  • He made in on D two times just to make vibrato! Dammit :) I hate vibrato from now on....:)

  • Better than Yo Yo Ma.

  • who played first??? the cello or the piano??? who cares lol! this is amazing!!

  • Wow, just tried and I can play it all (not as perfect as this player though)

  • Es hermoso, me encanta

  • amazing

  • Can't stop listening to it!

  • this was soooo beautiful

  • Exquisite

  • I found that the sound stage is awesome while using a headphone. Is this recored binaurally?

  • I really like the pianist's hairdo.

  • why i can't find it on double bass lol i played it at school there's none and youtube :/ cello sound doesn't have the balls imho ;-) but his good ^_^

  • Bach's Air on G string is my one and only favorite instrumental music I want to hear. Quint's performance is close to the original music composed by Bach. The music expresses the intensity of emotion of a person in love for another.

It can express the love of God for sinful man who turned away from his creator.

The intensity reaches its peak as the music nears its end, and somehow you ask for more.

  • beautiful!!!! BRAVO!!

  • @aledeseada You're right, Popular Music is not Art, its Design...

  • Amazing

  • BRAVO !!!!!

  • magnifico!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)

  • Great composition, he plays with feeling. The thing about all the vibrato is that it really makes the open notes sound out of place, I think it's better used on only certain notes, and vary the tempo of it.

  • muy bueno

  • i love cello so much..and of course, the song is beautiful!

  • Comment removed

  • bravo - bravvvvissssimo

  • Pure bliss

  • No words

  • a master's interpretation.

  • so much beauty just in that first note

  • Nice and deep. Sensitive.

  • it's peaceful :) makes me want to learn how to play the cello more. Very nice.

  • anyone have cello score for "Air on the G String?" can sent to me? Thank you very much! ^^

  • I luv the song and the story behind this song :D

  • @pansheng What story?

  • I love this song, thanks for share it. the firts time that i heard was when i was wathching "the End of evangelion".

thank you so much!, this version is just perfect!

  • a master's interpretation

  • I dont get it this pirce is called AIR ON THE G STRING but hes playing on the A STRING....

  • its meant to be played on violin, on the g string

  • Bach originally composed this as an orchestral suite. 'Air on G string' from what I know is an arrangement by someone else, basically Bach's composition for a string instrument and the piano, not necessarily the violin. He is playing it on the G string btw

  • No, he's playing it on the G string. It's Cello; there is no A string

  • Cello's have A strings..... C,D,G,A... same tuning, one octave above a Viola.. and that's not the G string.. G is 2nd from the players right.

    C----G----D----A

  • My bad; thanks for correcting me on the cello strings.

  • Viola is one octave ABOVE the cello

  • Yes there is. A is the highest string, then D, G and C.

  • @Caontor

Yeah, thanks! However, from what I read, the duet with the piano and string instrument was arranged by someone else, from Bach's piece. Also, it doesn't necessarily have to be a violin; just a string instrument.

  • My name is also Sebastian...

  • simply gorgeous

  • That is the way it should be played ... Most play in a very strict time... All the rubato in this was fantastic.

    My God !!

    Dave.

  • i have an hard time an my teacher had are class play this an im a beginner i been on been playing for 3 weeks now i though i would start on something easy but no i get this but it really perrty though

  • @sorrowfulrin180

Get a new teacher before you become discouraged

  • thanx but i have improve throw this year

  • this is so a beautiful version i almost cried

  • best music and play!

  • love this melody, my masterpiece to die with

  • I don't like his timing or the onset of the vibrato. He doesn't let the notes start w/o vibrato.

  • i agree but well played it is a beautiful piece :)

  • It's an awesome piece of music (my opinion) and he did really well it's just I prefer a vibrato that comes in AFTER the first pull of the note and not rushing the timing then slowing to compensate. People get too caught up in trying to "interpret" and stuff. Fine to slow a section but speed up a note just to slow the next? Let the music talk instead of your desire to be recognized.

  • Felicidades, exelente versión!

  • i like this version!

  • wonderful something melancolic but beautiful

    perfect!!!!

  • so many feelings...

cant express all of them with words...

  • Heart-breaking..

  • I can't stop drooling over you cello! What a pure piece of beauty!

Of course your playing is beautiful, but what is that wonderful piece you play?

  • BACH!!!!!

  • it is the second movement (called "Air") of the Ouverture No.3 in D major, BWV 1068 by J. S. Bach, written between 1725 and 1739 in Leipzig
