  • I must admit I liked this one more then Rondo of Blood, but Super Castlevania 4 is the best. Symphony of the night is good if you like that kinda thing. AVOID castlevania 64, ps2 version and simons quest. i didnt really like draculas curse i prefer the original nes version or castlevania 1. but thats just me

  • A good game with great graphics and music and I know it's more or less a port of Dracula X: Rondo of Blood on the PC Engine, but would it have killed Konami to add in the 8 directional whipping and the twirly thing from the peerless Super Castlevania IV? Or to have the R button for using your sub-weapon rather than the old NES controls of holding up and attack? A step backwards imho...

  • @vincedu69

The USA version is Dracula x the EU version is Vampire's kiss

but the game is the same

  • Meh, I liked Super Castlevania IV way better than this one. 8-directional whipping, folks.

  • Great game, but insanely difficult! I'm lucky enough to own a PAL version of this game.

  • @vraatzucht

you know that its is the pal version thats is the rarest

  • I actually prefer the CV Rondo of Blood for the PC Engine better than Vampire's Kiss, awsome that they realeased it for PSP with SotN & the "remake of Rondo" (CV Dracula X Chronicles). But hey, this game is really good too, and if youre able to get a PAL version of this SNES game, you are lucky. Theyre really rare now.

  • you are rally tallented and skilled to this game, you are really good ;) alright, i'm not trying to be cruell, or anything, but you kinda suck when it comes to dodgin attacks, sorry :( one thing i really loved was at 8:45 where you just jumped from the stairs on the platform... that was just awsome, again, you are really good at this game, but you need to work you're dodgin skills a little more ;)

  • whats the differnce between Castlevania - Vampire's Kiss and Dracula x????

  • The Dracula X release in America was not the Dracula X in Japan. The Dracula X was Rondo of Blood, and this is what America did to it I guess. Japan at one point got it and called it Vampire's Kiss. (All my guess, not the actual answer.)

  • @obliveousemoon Dracula X was the name of the American version, whereas the European version was called Vampires Kiss....

  • @HellsAsylum It all was a guess on my part. Nothing solid to back anything up.

  • @obliveousemoon I understand yes and im not chanstising you or anything...just thought id let you know

  • i love the music in stage 3, i always played castlevania VK with a friend on his pc with windows 98, en w eloved this music, in those time the know what a game was...

  • Hey...I love SCvIV and the old style ones. But games like CvSOTN, Cv Aria of Sorrow, Cv Dawn of Sorrow, Cv Order of Eclesia and others Metroidvania's are great games.

As NaziArabianJew said...they haven't 3D interactions, keeping the soul of 2D games alive in these sucking 3D generation.

I agree with you all that they should make another one in the old style, but I totally disagree in stop making more Metroidvania's.

  • what the fuck is Metroidvania's ???? can some one tell me that???

  • Do you know the serie Metroid? If you don't...you won't understand.

  • i now the metroid serie, i played the on NES, SNES, and GBA, Fusion and Zero Mission, and Gamecube but 3D sucks!!! also can you tell me waht is this Mertoid vanias???

  • @Asgardsjaeger Kinda late , but what people call "Metroidvania" would be Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, wich many people refer to as the best CV game.

  • Wasn't Cerebrus a three-headed dog, not a three-headed Panther?

  • I agree with Stavekoff, SOTN is one of my favorites too.

by the way, the guy playing is not too good, isn't he?

  • Super Castlevania IV is by far the GREATEST Castlevania game ever.I hope they stop releasing these Metroidvania's and start making them like the good old days and deliver some new Castlevania's old school style.

  • PFFFFFT

SCIV is great and all, but Symphony is where it's at.

  • You're weird o_O

  • I'm all for SCIV and I consider it to be one of the greatest CV made, but come on.. The Castleroids keep the story interesting and it avoids 3D iterations--which is a VERY GOOD thing

  • I never said I liked the 3d castlevania games.Hated them from the begining with the one for N64.The metroidvania's don't feel like Castlevania 4.Having to go back and forth to find a passage to an aeria you couldn't go before and trying to figure out what combination of objects you must have to open doorways and SHIT like that makes the game anoying and boring to begin with.I don't think the story evolved into something good and the players keep getting more boring and ball breaking.

  • @NaziArabianJew Both the original castlevanias and the castleroids have their upsides and downsides. I personally think that the castleroids are overall better games.

  • IV is good because it is so similar to the original, but i still think the original on NES is the best.

  • Emphasis on the word "kicked". Now it's just... Eh. o_o

  • This game kicked ass.

  • poor playig!!!!!

  • I really like the version of bloody tear... :)

  • What it speedrun?

  • LOVE THIS MUSIC

  • @Danovio What music??...

  • @ElHuevon142857435268 kick ass snes music

  • @Danovio Oh, do you refer to 0:05, right?.

  • This may come off as shallow but after playing a castlevania game where you run makes it hard to go back to a slower paced game.

  • Idk why there was no running back then. I mean shit dude did running not exist back then or something?

  • Maybe that's an illusion, Alucard for instance, is a quite slow runner..:D But at least he can jump off stairs. :)

  • Hmm yea, the game is pretty slow paced...no sliding, or running, or any form of dashing...at least Alucard was able to back dash, I would just back dash around in SotN...still a great game with great music (as with most Casltevania games)

  • Castlevania IV own this game though!

  • No it doesn't in my opinion.

  • ON this game you can only use the whip towards

  • Super Castlevania iv owns this game just because you can only whip horizontaly? LOL...

  • You can't slash upwards in symphony of the night either... And Super castlevania sure doesn't own that game... :)

  • I actually adore the control system in IV. Omni-directional attack, one button for sub-weapons, the game itself was as hard as Contra... o.o That and the castle, music, enemies, bosses, and just about everything else that had to do with Super Castlevania IV rocked complete face. I <3 it.

  • stage 1 music is the best!! just listen to that beat, it encourages you to keep going, and the graphics are awesome for its time, look at those burning houses, the first time i played this stage i couldnt believe it was real, i asked myself

"how can a game be this AWESOME!!!??"

    its the best game ever!!!!

  • god richter is slow=S

  • Richter in Portrait of the Ruin is unstopable hes fast and strong

  • ya that is a challenge but if you beat him you get...i forget but its totally worth it, i've almost mastered the game but some of the request by whats his face the ghost or whatever *obviously i've forgot a lot* are just insane!

  • "Haha" Dracula laughered "you have fighting for very long house it is almost midnight and then i will be MOr powerful!"

"I can fight for few hourse more and " he whip the crystal out of Darculas handd.

"That is lony crystal that is not source of power i am still powar"

  • go write a book

  • First he foght the Frankensteing and death but a whole bunch of skeletons too until he found teh Dracula.

  • "It deradful! I am worry of my husband who lumbers in the forst all day"

"Donot worry i am safe the village from him" and Ricter said goodbye to neibhour Shelly and ran off to fight the vampire.

  • Ten Dracula came and eated animals all over the forest. Word spred to the village where tBelmont family was wrnead of it.

  • The fact that you havn't died any any of the stages is amazing, however you still need alot of work, you should be able to do stage 1 & 2 w/o taking a hit. Good job otherwise.

  • Sure, you didn't use a fast speed for the game

but that shows that your human.

haha, you took alotta hits but once again, you ARE human. =]

    very awesome.

  • What is the difference between this one and Dracula X (The SNES one not Rondo) They look exactly the same and look like they play the same too.

  • Godamn that music in stage 3 is such a classic in castlevania, i LOVE IT!!!!

  • More like a constipated run...

  • LOL

  • Not as much of a speed run as a quick run, but still good.

  • Oh god... This is HORRIBLE compared to Rondo of Blood.

  • wow you have a wrong definition of HORRIBLE or you simply have no taste ive seen rondo, and this is 100 times better, learn to have some taste, no castlevania beast this one

  • You've seen Rondo, you haven't played it obviously.

Go play it and leave your blinded fanboyism at the door.

  • what can you compare the stage 1 of dracula x and rondo of blood, dracula x has really detailed flames in the houses not from from ritcher, and all the rondo has is some redish ugly flames far away, eeww bad game....and you like that??? oh well not everyone has taste in the world, i understand ...

  • Oh man that's a lot of mistakes... I guess they can't all be contenders for the speedrun archive.

  • hey that,s rhondo of blood XD the remake is called dracula x chronicals XD

  • god this was the most boring speed run i've ever seen

  • this isnt speed run men

  • yes, here in the USA its called Dracula X.

  • isn't this game called dracula x here in the states?

  • I'm glad they made the "butterknife" suck a little less.

  • i dont think this is mutch of a speed run but i still like it

  • Huh. He doesn't run as fast as he suddenly does in PoR.

Hmm. I should get this ROM. x3

  • From what I seem to understand, Simon Belmont is the good Dracula and the first vampire Dracul is the bad Dracula. Anyone care to tell me what the hell is going on?

  • Well not really, simon was one of the descendents of the belmont clan, the belmonts are vampire hunters and all them are humans, they use the vampire whip wich is a vampire killer weapon that was first used by leon belmont (castelvania lament of inocence). Leon declared war to dracula until he was destroye forever. So from generation to generation the belmonts keep chasing dracula

  • @vukeno wasnt one of the belmonts (who i heard was only a belmont in title) actually dracula himself? i believe it was in lord of shadows.

  • @LelouchCommandsYou hmmm I believe so, I remember that there are a couple castlevania games in which Belmonts are related to Dracula, maybe lord of shadows is the one

  • @LelouchCommandsYou Lords of Shadows follows a different timeline. There, Dracula only appears in the final moments of the game and ***SPOILER*** he is none less than the playable character gabriel belmont to be exact.

  • WOW!! where can i find this game??

  • take a look at www.dgemu.com there are lots of rom´s there for all the consoles

  • All it is is the European version of Dracula X, which, while it is a good game, most prefer the original DX Rondo of Blood. Having not played that yet, I say GET DX/Vampire's Kiss! Great SNES game.

  • Sorry for the double post. If, like me, you don't like joining a site, even if it's free, a membership-free ROM download site can be found at rom-world.com, too. It has the same CV games as dgemu.
