  • John Campbell, the distillery master of Laphroaig.

John Campbell, the bassist of Lamb of God.

I know what I'm gonna name my kid. I don't care if my girlfriend agrees.

  • I make a similar whisky to Laphroig, as a hobby, using a much smaller still, but the same process with the barley... I'm from argyll in Scotland, another great whisky producing region...

  • hi i bought a bottle of the 10 year old laphroig which is one of the best whiskys i have tasted/ i distil a little whisky myself/ my question is this/ what is that sort of tcp taste in the 10 year old one is it the taste of the oak barrel or is it the smoke off the peat thanx

  • They're smelling tasting the stuff, not drinking it. That is what's going on here.

In fact, this drinking you seem to want is mostly discouraged.

Btw. have you even tried this drink yourself?

  • RexAlban mentioned 10-Glenfiddich... I'm drinking that now. And to be honest I think Jack Daniels or Wild Turkey have much fuller flavors. Glenfiddich is bland and uninteresting. I don't recommend it to any one who has enjoyed the wonderful smokey and peety flavors of Scotches like Laphroaig.

  • @christinewanker i would say glendiffich is a totally different kind compare to laphroaig. Glen is from the speyside where single malt from there hv more flavour on fruit, sweetness..but laphroaig is from Islay... whereby whisky from there is more on smoky and peaty ... So i think it depend on the drinker who like smoky or sweetness... any i like smoky :D hv u tried smokehead??

  • why you say probably never will.. laphroaig is everywhere.

  • I don't know? I just don't seem tp like anything with achohol in it. I am probablly mad, but hey it does maintain my heatlth and does not mean I spend lots of money on it. Cheers, peace and happy drinking from Devon!

  • Ok, I shall be the first one to comment. I am becoming really quitee interested in Whisky, as we are planning a train to roam Scotland by trains. I have never tasted it before, and probably never will. But if I did what would be a ood place to start. Something, light ad fruity with a hint of spring flowers and definately not too peaty.

  • light and fruity?
