I just noticed something....Lamont always hollering at his dad.....I don't like that. Live the SENIOR CITIZEN ALONE ..you big dummy!.....LOL....Wonder why didn't I notice that growing up
@MsSkorpeo and what i noticed about lamont is when he knows something about an item or specific topic he acts like hes the smartest dude in the world lamont can be a real ass sometimes
All the character actors on Fred's side. I remember all of them in other things, all except the girl and boy - and I think grown up he may have been an extra in "A Different World."
From watching this episode, I guess it explains why Lamont wasn't so quick to settle down as the seasons went on. He dated, but he never went steady with one girl until the last season when he got engaged to "Janet." If I can recall, he didn't marry her either....did anyone remember? Did Lamont eventually marry?
@ekocentric Lamont's aunts and uncles did not acknowledge him or Fred when they entered the church. Come on, really? You'd think they were attending a funeral instead of a wedding.
@rickstheone They seemed happy that the wedding was off because they could take their gifts home...sort of reminds me of a three stooges episode where they tied a wiener to a string. Sold it on a roll to different people and snatched it back before they could bite down on it...
They thought that they could look as though they were glad to spend money on Lamont, but were happy to get their gifts back.
@rickstheone The housing projects that I lived grew up in in Watts (also called South Central L.A.) was exactly 1.6 miles away from Fred and Lamonts junk yard. On 91st street.
@ginamaeeproductions He said it a lot. I remember even though we laughed at him saying Nigga on the air we were surprised back in the early to mid 1970's. But it was funny though.
what you say her old man does work at the post office? thats right he works at the post office he,s incharge of a window, i bet he,s in charge of all the windows cleaning em!!! lmao!!!! *priceless*!
Ive got every single episode of this on dvd and i watch them over and over all the time. One of the greatest comedys of all time. They dont make shows these days that can come close to touching this.
Well, you could get some slimline DVD cases and label each one with whatever episodes are on the discs. That way, there won't be any worry about getting the discs marred with fingerprints. Just a suggestion. ;)
Tryna find the name of my fav Sanford and Son episode. Its the one when all the cast was sitting in the audience watchig a ground of white actors potraying there roles and Ester yells to the white one its SUCKA!.....LOL.....please help me find that episode.
When Red Fox pulls out all those eye glasses from that drawer,I thought I would die! That's what I have to do to see to dial the phone too! lol lol Thanks for posting these. I watched most of them when they showed originally.
Lamont should have ask Rollo to be hist best man. If Julio Feuentez the Puerto Rican was their neighbor at the time, he should have asked him. Then Fred would not be put him down on the most important day of his life.
@psychodelicrock12 Rollo didn't exist yet at this point of the series. This is only the 3rd episode ever. Lamont, like Julio, only comes into the series later. At this point, Fred and Lamont were the only recurring characters. Of course later on the cast filled out considerably with Fred's many friends, Rollo, Donna, Esther and Woody, etc.
S&S wa always, but every once in a while, they would deal with some REALLy serious subject matter...and THIS one is one of the big ones.
Even NOW, it's considered TABOO to address class differences among black people in television programming and that's what this episode is REALLY about. One group of black folks lookin' down on another, the "lesser" group holding CONTEMPT for the others, and it just falls apart from there.
@82CARVER And he was the drunk, in "The Jeffersons" episode when George was found giving Christmas gifts to the tenants living in his old childhood apartment home.
what you say her old man does work at a post office? thats right he work at a post office he in charge of a window. fred- i bet that hes in charge of all the windows cleanin em
The first few years were the best! Lamont and Fred in my book are still funny. I brought the whole series in DVD and when life is getting me down I watch this to laugh! One of the best shows ever!
Its funny how Lamont gettin mad at Fred cuz he don't want him 2 get married, when in the episode,"The Wedding",Lamont tried his best 2 stop Fred and Donna from getting married.
There's no doubt that the beautiful organ music at 3:45 did not come from that little pump organ, rather an extremely nice theatre organ. Does anyone know who is actually playing the song?
this was the evil Lamont! you can tell by the "Fu Manchu",lol! he also had it in "Crossed Swords",lol
