as for HISPANO=HISPANIC it only means directly from spanish origin so spain and all of its colonies since the ancient roman word for spain was Hispania. it doesnt include the rest of Latinos such as portugues italian or french and their colonies. LATINO=LATIN according to Real Academia Espanola in Madrid, Spain dictionary Latino only means anyone from latin origin starting with ancient Romans from region of Latium that created the greatest empire of all. and anyone who accepts their culture namely spanish portuguese italian french etc. are of latin stock. latin is also a language that spanish italian etc. derived from. since their colonies have their influence then theyre are also considered latin therefor latin america gotits name
