People need to understand Berklee's true purpose, all schools are expensive these days but not many have the same atmosphere that berklee provides. Pure love of music, any person that labeles any kind of music as not legitimate music is not a serious musician himself, music is universal no matter what form
i think b4 most music was hidden from the listener b4 people bought it. now everything is exposed. so the decline in record sales is basically people saying, ' i like that track, but not those, they're shit', when b4 people would've bought the entire album, along with the shit tracks. so this forces artists to , not produce shit anymore.
let me tell you , long before we were listening all your crap music ...and you were getting lots of money , now i listen 10 000 songs and i choose whom i like , for free then i pay for the album , so fuck off
It is absolutely hypocritical for Roger Brown to say he wishes more students should study music history in this video, and in the other video about what Berklee looks for in a student he says they are not looking for someone who wants to recapitulate the past. Just the typical Berklee Lip Service you will get at this school.

not exactly. you kind of have to know what's come before you so that you can go where nobody else has been.

Great words, it's always nice to know about music history since without it, there simply wouldn't be music that we have today :)
