Devin is a genius, you can't compare him to any musician. I mean, I love Zappa and Steve Vai as well, especially Zappa is on the same level as Devin in my opinion, but does this matter ? Unique music is unique music, never compare it to each-other !

Devin Townsend is a guitar God, but Steve Vai and Igwie Malmsteen could pass him in the fast lane with their heads tied behind their backs. I think he would admit this proudly. Townsend is also an amazing producer and has influenced many amazing bands.
