He was placed first, improvised on the spot and he's not happy with it. When you can play that come back. I can play this, but I'd need to learn it first, improvisation doesn't come quickly.
the thing is with drums we cant play melodies, so that rules out a lot of possible techniques to demonstrate in a solo..therefore we have to use what we can do.....Dynamics, tempo and timbre being the three strongest....i think your good but try and experiment with other aspects of drumming, rather than just the all out powerhouse rock approach......
nice job man. it must have felt terrible dropping the stick at the end. lol. must have felt great with all the girls on u though. nice job. im a drummer as well on an electric kit, keep up the fantastic work.
I think everything is around the $2000 area, the only thing I need now is 2 more cymbals, 2 new stands, maybe a new drum throne, and a professional kit. Ill be upgrading to all those in about a year maybe when I have enough money.
@daehyun $2,000. my ass. There is do way a pdp was that much...cause i have been drumming for a while....and those are chepo sets. u have a what 4 peice with like 4 cymbals....i dont care if those are sabian aa cymbals or byzantine meinls....that kit was not 2 grand.....and learn some real beats and crap.....not to be a dick...but crappy solo...very crappy solo. Random beating around...was just like that fag travis barker..nothin special.
@lilheners I love people like you. Just to make sure you look like an idiot heres a list. PDP CX 2005 Model were 700$ for the whole set retail. A Custom 16" Projection Crash A Custom 20" Projection Ride K Custom Hi Hat Top Qucik Beat bottom A 10" Fast Splash A OCDP snare which retailed at GC for 500$ Yamaha Flying Dragon Double Pedal - 300$ I don't know about you, but any drummer thats been drumming for awhile can tell that kit is well around $2000. Oh, "not to be a dick" but, you're gay
Cool! Same here but I also like Akira's influences too (Steve Gadd). But now adays I'm watching clips of Chris Dave,Dennis Chambers,Vinnie Colaiuta,Ronald Bruner Jr.,Dana Hawkins and George "Spanky" McCurdy
that was cool. not overly impressed...just cause it was more a flashy solo for a crowd that doesn't know drums. you have a lot of talent so I'd love to see you throw some grooves or something not just bangin around like Travis Barker often does for a crowd...
and your kit sounds great by the way, i really like your snare.
If you would like to check me grooving check out my solo I recorded in Korea. Ill be posting up more videos when I get my camera back from a certain someone :]
its a CX 2006 model I think... i forgot when I bought the set. And yes! the snare is awesome, its a ocdp snare I picked up for cheap at guitar center, hehe :]
lots of snare, bass, hihat grooves, except for the one part. Really try to explore your kit. Different groves all the way around the kit. but good solo
jazeker talent :D

Ok you're no Minnemann or anything but keep it up. If you keep practising you'll definitely be a really good drummer in a few years.
I don't mean that in a patronising way, so just stick to it and you'll be awesome one day.
