  • HUM was insanely ahead of their time.

  • beautiful beauty.

  • This is my alarm clock.

  • Youtube's got just moments left to give

  • man, this was the last rock band that i really loved.

  • wall of noise. beautiful.

  • i don't know of any bands that put on such a perfect concept between sound, artwork and lyrics. every time i play hum i'm reminded that beauty is fleeting.

  • I get to see these guys tonight in Kansas City

  • i so miss hum have to say this band was long the end of the era of what i remember alternative being with this one of the final good bands.

  • i don't know what i'd do without music like this.

  • If we ignore the signals the mission control will send. It's one big ship ride anyway... This hell will never end.

  • Its so awsome that no one has ever herd of it.

  • this song will take you somewhere if you let it.

  • i can't believe i am just now discovering this band. its in like a nice sweet spot between classic indie rock and the good 90's alternative rock. I DIGS IT MAN! I DIGS IT!

  • @catfeces yeah i agree maybe with a little touch of dreampop mixed in with it

  • This song absolutely destroys. If this plays when I enter the afterlife,I'll be ok with that.

  • This song absolutely destroys. If this plays when I enter the afterlife,I'll be ok with that.

  • I absolutely love the album art.

  • 0 dislikes. As it should be.

  • Song: Little Dipper

    Artist: Hum

    Genre: Hum

  • 90 was split.. good shit and just shit.... hum was never really known all that much.. radio really only played stars... THey rocked live though... but hum deserved to be heard by many more then they did thats for sure.

  • @jdubs4201

Yeah its a shame too, Stars even got very little airplay even though everyone I talked to that heard Hum's music loved it.

  • @anaxis your so Right on that 90s was a good year for music

  • HALF THESE MOTHERFUCKERS DONT HEAR!!!

  • i have this album on cassette, i got it for £9. i dunno if you can get it on cd anywhere but it was a good £9 spent.

  • @PizzaInChicago

Yeah I used to own this on CD when it first came out, so its definitely out there.

  • wow sounds alot like deftones knife party the guitar does

  • @guitarman1115 yep, but this album came out five years before that

  • some guitar tab this please!

  • @ThisAccountHasNoUse *someone

  • It's a million times better than this new "dubstep" bullshit. Ugh what is it with that shit?

  • Knife party by deftones anyone?

  • @dicked2 This was released in 1995, before "White Pony" in 2000.

  • @TheDeftonesVault I realise this :) They obviously took a lot of influence from them.

  • @dicked2 Definitely. Back in Nov. 2010, Chino placed this album in his top 13 albums list. He said it influenced Deftones a lot.

  • @TheDeftonesVault this album influenced me a lot i used to listen to it every night to go to sleep,

  • @swilleyswilley Seems like the right type of album for the job. Atmospheric & spacey-feeling.

  • @dicked2 this is better IMO :)

  • @dicked2

On June 20, 2000, the band (Deftones) released their third album, White Pony

You'd Prefer an Astronaut is the third studio album by the Champaign, Illinois rock band Hum. It was released in 1995 by RCA Records

  • @dicked2 They were definitly inspired by hum (thats how i found this band, trough Deftones)

  • @dicked2 Deftones entire discography is almost a complete carbon copy of this album. Chino Moreno has cited them as his main influence.

  • @WonderWeiss324

    your a very smart dude

  • @BIGMOONDOG87 *you're. Im not smart at all, it just doesnt take much to hear teh influence and look up stuff on wikipedia.

  • nothing wrong with RAP, its the culture that kills the art.

  • Thanks to MJB for introduction to this band and Chino for reminding me how cool this is.

  • man, highschool, booze, weed. HUM really made it badass. oh and the girls too, hell yea.

  • @hmmsmellslikefish

o ya brother your of a very rare cool class of mother fucker!

  • This is my new favorite Hum song.

  • wow i forgot about this band.....they still sound amazing.they defenetly have a sound that puts me in a state of awe and wonder kinda like bein high lol. i just wonder y arent they a famous band

  • I hear a doobie calling my name. No one does it like Hum.

  • I could listen to this entire album along with White Pony by Deftones for ages.

  • woa this is mindblowing

for once paying attention in english class pays off (teacher mentioned hum n said they were really good. hes completely right)

  • this song reminds me of true freedom. outer space..away from it all

  • one of a kind, almosy hpynotic. awesome''

  • Hum songs never get dislikes. Anyone else notice this?

  • @mentalrectangle Hum fans are usually lovers not haters.

  • One of the most mind-blowing opening tracks ever.

  • you two've got just moments left to give

come back now and we will let you live

stay inside our blue protective eye

we won't let them take you, we won't let you die

  • i guess the cadillac commercial hooked me to hum..I know that sound like a cleashea but they are one of the greastest band ever...better than what people know now like gucci kesha and crap

  • an honoust wall of noise, nozzling voice , repetitive , not too accessible at first listening, i can listen hours to this stuff, this is guitar music all the way

slow, almost boring not fucked up at all

  • @mspr100 i like your mind

  • LONG LIVE HUM AND THERE AWESOME GUITAR TONE!

  • wow i forgot about this band.....they still sound amazing.they defenetly have a sound thats puts me in a state awl. i just wonder y arent they a famous band

  • this song rocks me to sleep its just that cool

  • Those two chords hold so much more depth than the solos, breakdowns and lyrics of today...

  • Sound's abit like the Shoegazing from My Bloody Valentine and Swervedriver crossed with early Foo Fighters but droner and a touch of Smashing Pumpkins around the siamese dream era.Sad MTV and radio does not play music like this anymore it's all GA GA OLA La gack.

  • thank you for posting Hum. They were too good a band to leave just after their 3rd album which in my opinion, is one of the best albums of all-time!

Easily, only of my top favorite bands of all time.

  • This song sends phantom pains from where my mind once was.

  • The World would be a better place if HUM was the biggest influence ever, I mean, they are my life. Influentially, they should have been for the masses. However, we reflect as the few, but its a loving few. To me, that's awesome.

  • almost too amazing

  • THIS

  • man im getting choked up by the nostalgia

  • this

  • Hum was one of her favorite bands, rest in peace little miss we all miss you --Yurika Lin Szabo she passed in 2006, died at home in her bath tub... she always played this cd......

  • @raw420x irony

  • She was a sweetheart, she was beautiful

  • what irony?

  • all of hum's songs never fail to make my day that much better :)

  • this album holds a very sepcial place in my earlier years growing up, oh how i miss 1994 and 1995.

  • @sneakerthekid I know what you mean. When I think of 94 95, I think of the first Foo Fighter album and hanging out in friends backyard getting high. I think of the blue Weezer album. Toadies. STP. The first OutKast album. Going to the North Carolina coast listening to the Beastie Boys and Tupac.

Juicy by B.I.G. Some Pixies Doolittle, REM, Dude, I could go on for days...

  • @YourFace AMEN DUDE! I SOO AGREE!!!

  • ok, whoever said r.i.p hum is a fucking retard, they didnt die.

  • Man I miss these guys. Sure wish they would get together for one last album. They could most certainly retire wealthy if they did

  • who doesnt

  • favorite album of all time! perfectly laid out from start to finish, no weak tracks, perfect flow between songs...

    r.i.p. hum!

  • You wanta talk about leading off an album corectly lol.

Great record and an even better way to start it

  • ultimate stoner rock :) love this song

  • this is why 90s Alternative is so much better than this new BULLSHIT and RAP

  • @anaxis94 damn, a year ago..theres new good shit out there they just dont play it on the radio box...

  • @dorkwithagun567 i know but u gotta look for all of tht lol unless u have indie radio station and local artist stations on your radio

  • @anaxis94 yo shut the fuck up thats exactly what the led zep fans said about 90's alternative. were better than that

  • @KRS1LEGEND The difference is today's popular music, by and large, SUCKS. You just can't say the same for the 90's, not by any standard.

  • @gavmazterj yea most popular music sucks but almost every fan of music from older generations judge todays music from the radio. they probably never heard a single artist from the indie rock or the underground hip hop scene, yet they judge it anyway cuz they think bieber represents all modern music

  • Comment removed

  • @KRS1LEGEND actually i listen to alot of indie music but wat im sayen is most of this new stuff sucks and im sorry i should of been a bit more specific especially when i said rap cas i know not all rap sucks but the current stuff dose. and the indie rock i mostly listen to is shoegazer and hard rock but i do listen to it lol im pretty sure not to many can say theyve heard of slowdive or the drop nineteens.

  • @gavmazterj your very right about that so thums up lol

  • @anaxis94 Those are all totally different forms of music, and not even in competition with each other.

  • @DasBoogaloo sorry i should of been more specific i basicly dnt like modern music (2006-current) unless its indie

  • @anaxis94 i just realized how blind i was wen i wrote this so thums down and i dnt like that its the highest rated comment cas it shows how blind those peoples judgments are.

  • @anaxis94 I agree. But I do love me some Kid Cudi. I think Kid Cudi would like Hum.

  • @anaxis94 Don`t be a hater.

  • @anaxis94 ikr

    >.<

  • @anaxis94 90's had a lotta good stuff, but I'm basically fine with anything 2008 and before. 2009+ is some sort of bubblegum wasteland.

  • @anaxis94

Even the most hardened rap-hater can grow to like it, if the right approach is taken. Bastard by Tyler was one of the best albums as of late, and Hopsin is awesome.

Anyway, There's plenty of good music still out there, just not as much. Kind of hard to search for it.

  • This song makes me think of the galaxy, the planets, the moons and the sun... outer space.

  • This song was in the Cadillac commercial...

  • HUM Stars was in the Cadillac commercial

  • yeah, i hate that, b/c anyone i show that song is all like oh this is the song in that cadillac commercial, without even listening to the actuall music so they miss the point of it.

  • one of the best song ever 4 sure

  • BEST SONG EVER!!!

  • My god...why havent I heard of this band before!?!?! This is DEFINATELY a great song!! I got word from my girlfriend about these guys and she was right, they ROCK!!!! Thanks for uploading this!
