i don't know of any bands that put on such a perfect concept between sound, artwork and lyrics. every time i play hum i'm reminded that beauty is fleeting.
i can't believe i am just now discovering this band. its in like a nice sweet spot between classic indie rock and the good 90's alternative rock. I DIGS IT MAN! I DIGS IT!
90 was split.. good shit and just shit.... hum was never really known all that much.. radio really only played stars... THey rocked live though... but hum deserved to be heard by many more then they did thats for sure.
few years ago a couple went out to dinner. later that night the babysitter called and asked if she could put a sheet over the clown statue in the kids bedroom. the father said "get the kids out of the house and I'll call the police. we don't own a clown statue." it turned out that the clown was a murderer escaped from jail. if you don't repost this message on 10 videos the clown will be in your bedroom tonight at 3am with a chainsaw sorrry I did this I was scared

Sound's abit like the Shoegazing from My Bloody Valentine and Swervedriver crossed with early Foo Fighters but droner and a touch of Smashing Pumpkins around the siamese dream era.Sad MTV and radio does not play music like this anymore it's all GA GA OLA La gack.
The World would be a better place if HUM was the biggest influence ever, I mean, they are my life. Influentially, they should have been for the masses. However, we reflect as the few, but its a loving few. To me, that's awesome.

@sneakerthekid I know what you mean. When I think of 94 95, I think of the first Foo Fighter album and hanging out in friends backyard getting high. I think of the blue Weezer album. Toadies. STP. The first OutKast album. Going to the North Carolina coast listening to the Beastie Boys and Tupac.
Juicy by B.I.G. Some Pixies Doolittle, REM, Dude, I could go on for days...
@gavmazterj yea most popular music sucks but almost every fan of music from older generations judge todays music from the radio. they probably never heard a single artist from the indie rock or the underground hip hop scene, yet they judge it anyway cuz they think bieber represents all modern music
@KRS1LEGEND actually i listen to alot of indie music but wat im sayen is most of this new stuff sucks and im sorry i should of been a bit more specific especially when i said rap cas i know not all rap sucks but the current stuff dose. and the indie rock i mostly listen to is shoegazer and hard rock but i do listen to it lol im pretty sure not to many can say theyve heard of slowdive or the drop nineteens.
@anaxis94 i just realized how blind i was wen i wrote this so thums down and i dnt like that its the highest rated comment cas it shows how blind those peoples judgments are.
