it depends upon what speed they are comparing it to. the phenom 9850 and intel core 2 quad 6600 run neck and neck in many benchmarks. AMD just didn't have the resources that iuntel does to keep up with the cpu race, but that may change come Bull-Dozer next year since now all their fab processing is now off-loaded to a 3rd party which allows amd to really focus on the design of their cpu's now. Where intel can't come close to competiting against amd is in theur gpu sector though.

Just go look back at all the problems people were having with them in 2007. I've never had a problem with AMD drivers.

Actually it's very fair. Both are server chips and the name of the game is work completed per Watt of power consumed. Intel did more work and used less power. Exactly what someone building a large rack-mount server would look for.

Anyway AMD's cheap and i don't think, that just because some lame guy changed his Intel based PC with AMD based with higher performance doesn't mean that AMD is better than intel or the oposite. AMD heats alot and it is not acceptable. And one more thing AMD generates more heat than Intel so it is normal to consume more power. But i've seen a videos which show opposite. If you want the truth test yourself equal machines!

That's a political issue actually. The reason Gas, medical supplies, cars all go up in price is because guess who has their finger in in, THE GOVERNMENT, the modern age should have driven those prices down. Look at consumer electronics, Computers, A machine now for 500 dollars is thousands of times more powerful than a 1500 dollar machine 12 years ago.

regardless on how google works, that also includes youtube, and other google owned businesses. And again like I said about the AMD blowing up, your full of crap, discussion over. The expansion in the chip may cause a pop and a crack, but it's simply not going to blow a hole in a table. There is simply *NO* freaken way. Why has AMD not told you how it happened, that's because it didn't. End of story.

You would have to have been overclocking several gigherz to get one to overheat with 5 fans, and that's assuming all the fans where working and not below say 1500 rpms. And yes, it would cost a *lot* for google to switch all their servers to a different processor. Think about what's involved with that and consider how many servers Google has, thousands. lets say 1000 per processor which isn't that uncommon for opteron.

Someone earlier made talked about how AMD processors will explode and was referring to a fake video I had seen only moments ago. I was not talking about this video. As for Yahoo and Google talking about AMD, how do we know, BECAUSE THEY'VE MADE IT PUBLIC! As for preferring them and not going in them, that's because Google and Yahoo both where started quite a while ago when Intel was actually worth crap. It's in recent years (2000's) that AMD has caught up and surpassed so fast.

el test es muy estupido, no mas vale que intel es de 8 nucleos pero la amd es la mitad como 4 nucleos, sin duda si agrega 8 nucleos de amd (llegado la phenom) ira mucho pero mucho mas rapido que intel.
sacamos el nucleo de intel para igualar a amd, sin duda que intel de 4 nucleos 33.06 seg
si agregamos mas nucleos de amd para igualar a intel, entonces amd sin duda 13.39 seg
resultado exacta de 8 nucleos iguales son:
intel 8 nucleos 16.53 seg
amd 8 NUCLEOS 13.38 seg

AMD Phenom quad-core was better then Intel C2Q.

AMD Phenom is cooler then Intel Core 2 Quad. Intel Core 2 Quad give a super hot-heat/high-temperature, the performance rate is only abit faster then C2D.
Anyway AMD will win.
AMD Phenom Tri-Core maybe able to win C2Q.
No need for Phenom Quad.
Phenom Core has been tested for Video editors and the rating of the processor is super high.
