  • I saw them this past january at the south florida scottish festival, but they had a blonde girl playing the violin. The music was great.

  • I have grown in appreciation of Needfire. I found out them thru Youtube because of my love of Horslips!! First, I learned about Fathom Band because of YT.I absolutely love this eastcoast Celtic band. Their music is a slightly different version of Celtic rock.

Looks like I will be expanding my album collection soon. Keep up the great sound.

  • I had the privellage of getting kilted with Michael in Sonora. I got to see his first performance with the band. I was blown away with how into his music he gets. Not only are his notes perfect, but he's fun to watch. They couldn't have chosen a better fiddler to fit the band. Oh - and he plays a mean dig. as well.

  • Hey all, it's Matt from NeedFire !! Just to clear up any potential confusion, Michael Purser IS our new fiddle player. Dylan (previous fiddler) is out of the country to serve his church. Michael is an amazing player, as most of you already know. A great majority of the tracks for Chasing Orion were already recorded when Michael became full-time. With Dylan leaving in March 2009, and the release in March 2009, it was necessary to reach our deadline. Michael is a very important part of NeedFire.

  • just saw them at the louisville irish fest. they rocked it out!! was wondering though, this fiddle player is he new? on their other cd covers and video's there's a different player!

  • The new fiddler is Michael Purser. He's on the website (out of alphabetical order for some reason) but they won't put him on the CD. I would like credit given as a performer even if he didn't write the songs on the previous CD's. Their former fiddler may or may not be back in 2 years.

  • i was there! thanks for posting this! i'd never heard or heard of Needfire before - but walked in at the right time and became an instant fan!!

  • You're welcome. This was their first time playing in California, I heard, and I think they were quite happy with their reception.

  • What a great sound...rock guitars, bagpipes, and violin..WOW!! This music is loaded with energy and fun..I love it!

Thanks for the fun time, Barb :)

    5 stars!

    64m >:-)

Btw, I liked when the band marched off of the stage and on to the dance floor! COOL :)

  • Thanks, Mung, it was my first time seeing them. I put up some other vids from that day you might like. I'll fix up my channel so you can find them easily.

  • good celtic rock mix thanks barb .
