I remember seeing this at a revival theater, and somebody in the audience sneered, "Oh, and he just happens to end up in the ZOO? What are the chances of THAT happening?" Because you know, the premise of a scientist turning into an ape was so likely to begin with.
i like this movie becuase it's so trippy and stuff, but i find it so unreal that after one regresses into a primordial state and just switches back to totally normal. of course it's total fiction but you know...some kind of subtle transition would be interesting too, in a remake for example

I was thinking, this is the exact opposite of the recycled superhero themes...Dr. (insert name) suddenly becomes a victim of his own experimentation and as an effect he has super powers...but instead here he grows hair on his ass and goes retard for a couple of hours...worst side effects ever!
