If you think the situation is bad now, with US troops driving around in thin-skinned logistics vehicles instead of MRAPs, wait a few years --- the DoD decided to procure 20000+ MRAPs, but doesn't have a plan to replace all the current logistics vehicles, which are on their last legs (due to suspension damage from carrying the extra weight of add-on armor all the time).
Before you know it, GIs will be up to their necks in MRAPs, but won't have anything to carry beans and bullets.
why in wwII we were able to develop, mass produce, and field new equipment in less than 4 yrs of combat. but we the most technologically advanced nation cant do this now in the 21st century. our govt is run by greedy irresponsible criminals!!!
