  • That guy dancing with her was royston ong!

  • FAMILY- Father And Mother I Love You

  • BanX Was Here... 01/11/11... ;)

  • Fri(END), Boyfri(END), Girlfri(END), Bestfri(END). Everything has an END except...Fam(ILY)! It Has 3 Letters that says I LOVE YOU

  • @nitza12345 this only works for 3 years old kid :)

  • "My father was the generous man, beyond means"!!!

    excellent.

  • So nice of you to admit there's no such thing as a muslim country. How is the situation in Syria going by the way? Oh by the way. The murder of the six Coptic Christians and the burning of the two churces in Egypt will be avenged.

  • T_T

  • I cried !!! It moved very much my heart !!! Love Asian people !!!

  • My family tree is full of nuts, but when i see people talk about religion in this video, i really wana CUT down their family tree and make a crap chair out of it so i can sit on it with my SMELLY ASS.

  • Islam bred its puppet dictators well, they were all muslims. Islam is responsible. As the world pursued democracy and separation of religion and state, islam remained stuck 1000 years in the past. Congratulations. Muslims are the first people in the history of human civillization to actually atrophy and GO BACKWARD. ISLAM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AS USUAL.

  • @00al47ex00 Not really. Islam is responsible as usual. There has been no history of democracy pre/post Ottoman Empire in muslim countries. Not America's fault if muslim countries decide they do not wish to be democratic, but practice 'gods law'. WHATEVER THE FUCK THAT IS. muslim countries told America and the world that they had no interest in democarcy whatsoever. As for muslims new found interst in democracy? IT'S A BIT TOO FUCKING LATE FOR THAT NOW.

  • @00al47ex00 As opposed to the injustices done toi Christians, Jews and other non-muslims at the hands of muslims and islam. The Armenian genocide of 1915, amogst others.

  • @00al47ex00 How many muslims died today in Libya? Syria? Bahrain? Yemen? If those countries weren't muslim they would not be thousand years behand the rest of civillization. Not my fault that muslim countries are so backward because islam held them back.If eastern European countries can overthrow marxist/Communist dictatoships, they can catch up and overcome the fascism that was imposed on them. But muslim countires are trapped by a fascist ideology. Islam. It tolerates nothing but slavishness

  • @00al47ex00 President Bush's relationship with Christianity is purely and only a matter for him and him alone. Not for anyone else.

  • @00al47ex00 Not really. Islam teaches its adherents not to take responsibility for their actions. In essence, it teaches its adherents to flee reality. 'In essence, every thing bad about us must always be somebody elses' fault'. Muslim countries are responsible for the problems of muslim countries. Muslims are utterly responsible for the problems of muslims in muslim countries. America has fuck all to do with this at all.

  • @00al47ex00 Not really, Sunni killed Shia, Shia killed sunni, Wahabi killed Sunni and Shia. And all killed Christians, Jews, Hindus. Sikhs, Bahias, Zorastreians, Buddhists, etc. So nice of you to admit that islam doesn't exist. Sort of in the same way Socilaists and Marxists freely admit that there has never been a Marxist socialist country. As a proud infidel,I gratefully accept your moral surrender. As for blaming America for the problems of Arab countries? Not really.

  • @00al47ex00 You, are all guilty. Does it really not fucking occur to you that there are other religions in the world? Other belief systems in the world. Ask yourself a question. What were your relatives before islam? Don't be a lobster, think for your self. Yemen=In chaos. Syria=in chaos. Pakistan=in choas Bahrain=in chaos. Islam has failed you. Libya=in chaos. So a supposed ideology of 'peace', there does seem to be a remarkable amount of unrest. Your ideology is dying.

  • @00al47ex00 Muslim countries suppress the Bible. Muslim countries persecute and oppress Christians and other non-muslims. YOU ARE THE ONES AFRAID OF THE NON-MUSLIM TRUTH IN MUSLIM COUNTRIES. WE WILL AVENGE THE CHRISTIANS MURDERED BY MUSLIMS YESTERDAY IN ETHIOPIA. YOUR 'PEOPLE' WILL BE KILLED IN REVENGE, YOUR MOQUES WILL BE BURNT DOW IN RESPONSE.

  • So sad makes me cry

  • This is perfect for Father's Day! Fathers always work hard to fulfill all his children's dreams. They may not show love directly or more than mothers, they are always the best. I admit I may hate my father most of the time, I always silently love him and understands him. Happy Father's Day to all fathers around the world!

  • awesome

  • i need help and i don't know where else to turn. My son has come down with the flu and is having extremely violent and painful diarrhea. What would you guys recommend?

  • TJ GP :O

  • OMG...that was touching and heartbreaking at the same time. l actually started tearing up watching this...thanks for sharing!!

  • We can never find another like Yasmin..

  • A touching commercial. I was on the verge of crying. We always take for granted the existence of father and seldom ponder the sacrifies father has to make (as well).

  • SHUT UP WARDA

  • she likes red :D

  • I only know that soundtrack was played in "The Pursuit of Hapiness" starring Will Smith. Great show, and this short clip is equal as well.

  • Anyone know the song of this? Message or comment me back please,,, This was so touching T___T

  • lol 0.39

  • Wow! that was emotional and touching. The LOVE is very powerful.

  • toooo touch

  • aw. VERY touching. i just found myself crying by the end of the video. nice :)

  • I know him in that commercial, is he acting in Phua Chu Kang Singapore Sitcom Comedy right??

  • It had been more than 20 years i seldom think so great for a father's love. It seem mother often play a important role of a family but father work silently, quietly express their deep love to their children..I love u ..dad.

  • @teo5743

    Agreed =)

  • this is so touching! im crying!!!! this reminds me of me and my dad! SO TOUCHING! *CRIES*

  • It wasn't the shoes, it was the fact that his were old and tattered so she could have new ones, it is the sacrafices parents make for their children and the fact that when they get older they finally realize what their parents do without so they can have! PAY ATTENTION!

  • lol she wants bra at her age....this is really touching that girl reminds me of myself when i was like her age

  • I finally tracked this video down to it's origin! This is truly a touching and beautiful video and I have watched at least a dozen times or more. Who ever created this....Thank you! :)

  • The person who created this is now with the Creator Himself, making skits that make angels cry

  • yasmin is the only one able to direct ads moving enough to make me full-out sob.

  • This is best advertisement , very touching

  • I din noe those commercial tat i watched from Singapore's Channel was created by Yasmin.

    R.I.P

  • @JORDANLOH727 I didnt know eitrher til I read ur comment. Yes, she's awesome. RIP Yasmin.

  • it can make ppl rly understand the importance of family. this ad is seriously good

  • Yasmin have never failed to make me cry. I remember I once wondered if she is actually that sensitive of a person to be able to write such moving literature.

  • RIP dear Yasmin..your profound works will forever be engraved in our hearts..never know when can we ever get to be served with such works as yours in the future

  • this is so touching...

  • Selepas menonton clip video beliau, aku merasakan satu kehilangan besar atas pemergianya buat selamalamanya..Sebelum ini aku tak kenal siapa JASMIN.Air mataku berlinang tanpa tahan terus mengalir, kerana video clip benarbenar menyentuh perasaaan.alfatihah buat semua umat islam yang kembali padaNYA dari zaman nabi ADAM hingga yang baru bersemadi termasuk JASMIN.

  • LOL the girl said " I want!!!: hahahahahahah she's too young for that hahahha i couldn't stop laughing LOL!!!

  • i cried, i loved these messages by Yasmin Ahmad, all of them made me shed tears, RIP Yasmin Ahmad, From Qatar ~

  • Yasmin Ahmad,may you RIP..................

  • who is yasmin?i'm not trying to be disrespectful,i'm just asking.

  • the director of this masterpiece(to me at least),and other ads n films.she just passed away,so....

  • Yasmin Ahmad is an amazing Malaysian director. She has done plenty of meaningful commercials which usually appear during local festivals and national days. A fairly recent award winning one is "Tan Hong Ming". She also has several wonderful movies - among them Sepet and Mukhsin, which also got some awards. To me, her works have the universal human touch and cross all boundaries.

Sadly, she passed away last week. Will miss her. RIP Yasmin.

  • thank you for giving me a straight answer.i luv the funeral one and this one.

  • Al-Fatiha to Yasmin Ahmed - from USA

  • al fatiha buat beliau,

  • 1 reason I'm proud to be Malaysian.. thank you the Beautifully Imperfect Yasmin Ahmad.. Alfatihah.. May You Rest in Peace..

  • so much was said in both her movies and adverts.

  • will always remember her ads n movies..Al-Fateha..

  • The messages and values (M&Vs) imbued in the ad are simple and not alien to most of us.

Unfortunately though, these M&Vs are generally seen as signs of weaknesses and flaws by today's society.

This attitude is highly prevalent among the youngsters.

    (*most of them at least)

Why don't we all just start practicing the good values preached in the ad, and promote them to others who haven't seen it?

That way, even with the demise of Yasmin, at least her efforts won't end up in vain.

  • Dear Yasmin Ahmad, you will be greatly missed and remembered. Rest in peace... :(

    Greetings from Indonesia.

  • R.I.P

  • rest in peace..may ALLAH BLESS YASMIN..AMEN

  • love is in the air, i remember. yep... rest in peace, yasmin

  • LOL... so small she wanted a bra... kakaka

  • i want to cry...lolsss

  • yasmin ahmad always the best!

  • ~Al-Fatehah~

  • R.I.P. , Yasmin Ahmad......

  • rest in peace, Yasmin Ahmad. ='(

  • sweet...

  • at 2:00 mark. The music score plays beautifully. It synchronizes with her personal epiphany.

    tear jerker.

  • What a spoiled little shit. She should be sent off to military school.

  • aww

  • This is so sweet. Thanks for posting this.

  • Es verdad Domingo, esto no lo veremos nunca en nuestro pais..., o si?, quien sabe......

  • wth whats your deal man?

  • haha yeah :D

  • is that tkgs uniform?

  • That also crossed my mind too. It really looks like tkgs uniform. I wonder if they credited tkgs for it?

  • YEETHIEN OMG <3

  • I dont think they did, cause the blouse looks whiter.

  • are you filzah from tkg?

  • TKGS aka Graph Paper school

  • really touching......

  • crappy propaganda from the nanny state ministry

  • I feel really sad for you dear paktamchung

  • you know my father was similer may my dearest father rest in peace. We will all see one another again.

  • i have crystals in my eyes

  • The difference between a good ad and a great ad is that no matter how often one sees a great one, it still always hits home. Awesome.

  • This is just too touching. I can feel tears running down my cheeks as I type this.

  • globalization. wake up man.

  • That was the most wonderful commercial I've ever seen! Who cares if its long? At least its wonderful. I almost cried.. I LOVE YOU DADDY AND I WANT NEW SHOES DADDY!

  • Is that filmed in Toa Payoh?? I'd recognise the central Toa Payoh market place anytime!

  • oyster - she's an accalimed Executive Creative Directorin an advertising agency and also the Film Director for most of her TVC. In her past time she will direct movie like Sepet and Mukhsin(Cannes Film Festival opening movie last year). If you havent watch it please do. It's the content we are talking abt and not the length of the film. And how old are you? 17? When was the last time you call your dad or mum and sit down to have a long chat with them and say "I Love You"

  • i miss my dad...RIP papa.

  • bearsheila, I am so sorry of your late father. I know how you feel.. Sometimes I have a dream that my dad was being killed or dead. I cried in real life when i was asleep and I also cried in my dream. All you need to do is to pray to God.. I respect you!

  • LOL, can u do better then?

  • i like this video=D

  • we are all so jaded by the bombardment of information these days anyways, this is a good refreshing change.

even if it is propaganda, it's a good one.

  • because its a campaign/message, not commercial/advertisement

  • so you'd rather watch a mindless desperate 'commercial' trying to sell the idea of a family instead? just take this ad for what it is - a short sweet vignette on love and family, a refreshing change from the desperation of endless advertising we see every day.

  • PROPAGANDA? Too long to get to the message? Commercial? Advertisement?

Whatever, i love it, the message strikes me right in the heart, i have a family and i will always treasure them.

Kudos to Yasmin and MCYS to spend so much effort and finance to remind us what is most important in our lives.

Happy Easter to all, a time to bond once again with your spirituality and what has been given to you before your eyes-yr family.

  • :) oyster.. i think u should meet yasmin.. n perhaps offer some professional advice? i think yasmin would be nice enough to hear u out and not try to put u down.. like how u do it..

  • he reminds me of my father T T

  • cool!

  • I love the music... Anyone knows what song it is or where the music is from?

  • Very touching indeed... :)

  • this video is notch bad

  • we are shy to show our love to someone..

  • Yes I like it very much too, it was made by my favorite director Yasmin Ahmad

  • I went yesterday to the movies and i fell in love with this short...i sent liks to my friends in Panama and Canada..

  • this is one of the rare ads that caught my attention on tv. usually, i dont even bother to watch commercials.

the emotions are subtle but very touching. it really made me think of my family and appreciating them more. please continue to produce such high quality ads!

  • it is very touching. this kind of tv ad is rarely seen in spore tv. hope this ad can bring out the meaning of family to other singaporeans. anw, happy birthday singapore.

  • its a nice video i must say...but using a secondary school girl and featuring her dancing in a dance club may send the wrong message to viewers...

  • It's not exactly a dance club, if you observe carefully..background says that it's a prefects' night.

  • Great TVC - it definitely brought the intended message across.

The government should definitely steer away from "politically correct" messages, and use these marketing campaigns to show the real issues on the ground.

  • i'm away from home but i jus read the article on ST online and came on by to watch the ad.. marvellous storytelling!! 5/5

  • i love it!

  • gosh. the guy is a rotarian.

  • Well done Yasmin! Good film that talk about the true important things in life are priceless. All the best on your future projects.

    Cheers,

    Albert

  • I was feeling a bit down and had just finish a promotion at the polytechnic for the CHOICE program after a long day from work and was having a late night dinner with my auntie's family(my family is back in Malaysia) when I saw this commercial (it was already half way though). I became very touched and inspired...

  • ok, i cried. lol. it was too touching,

  • The family institution as we know it is breaking down. Much-needed message to Singaporeans! A job well done!

  • **shot

  • That panning ahot across the show rack was really powerful. Great storytelling.

  • Oh. I've been through that phase in my life before, wanting things was so easy. Now, even asking extra pocket money from my parents is hard.

  • that older girl look like my friend... O_O

    touching story btw.. :")

  • why of all things, the girl have to choose bra? cannot choose sth else like toys or clothes? BRA??? muahaha
