  • Good job but your legs are too far apart...standard positioning for best effect should be just a little past your shoulder width.

  • the guys feet are too widely spaced out, its a lot easier to do these with wide feet position because you dont rise your hips as high if they are close together- thats actually how they are done in india- i do 140 in one go at the moment

  • oh, and spreading the elgs puts more pressure on the arms/works your abductors, especially when doing high reps.

  • The work the delts harder that regular pushups. Good for fighters and the like. In the documentary short Judoka the guy talks about doing 600 on normal days and 1000 for burnouts. Kimura was insane.

  • I counted a hundred. Impressive. I really admire the will-power and dedication needed to do that. I do them in sets of 25 myself and can do up to 250 plus in a day. The great Indian wrestlers do a thousand or so a day.

  • tricountybaldy - your technique of doing 5 sets of 12 is counter productive. You should be going for 100 in one go. It can be done just increase by 5 or 10 as you work out 4 times per week. It takes a few months to get up from 12 to a 100.

  • his feet should be on tip toe plus he is not coming back properly he should reverse the push up exactly the same as he does when he comes down... this way is kind of only half push ups - lame.

  • his feet isnt a big deal, and your talking about dive bombers when you go back the same way, these are hindu pushups as the title says

  • i can only do bout 50 of those but i can do up to 300 consecutive normal pushups =) my best was bout 310

    I can do a huge amount of hindu squats (for example) if I only go down part way. You need correct form and correct breathing.

  • these are excellent, and if done correctly with proper breathing are much harder, and more of a full body workoout, than regular push ups

  • It is use din the east liek in india china those parts by wrestlers and martial artists and what not. It originated in India and thats where it got it's name. It works the upper body and is better than reg push ups cus it also builds endurance xD

  • All of your core upper body...abs, back, arms, chest, and shoulders. The key is not letting your hips touch at the bottom. This guy looks like he is because his boxers sag, but he's ALMOST touching, not quite. That gets your abs into it because you have to hold your body out straight over your knuckles.

  • What does it work? your core and most of the major muscles in your upper body to some degree.

  • Nice work, but try going all the way back try to bring your chest all the way back before you dip. When you dip, try to make it wider. Matt Furey has awesome stuff, his isometric stretching vids are awesome, so is his Long Life set. Peace
