  • the best ever cover of this song was done by the San Francisco band Until December every time I spin it at a goth club most people think it really is Bauhaus.

  • Lugosi Béla, the great Hungarian actor :)

  • Nosferatu!

  • BELA LUGOSI UNDEAD, UNDEAD, UNDEAD

  • good for you

  • love it.who's actually singing this version of bela lugosi's dead?

  • this is fucking awesome hahah

  • Fuckin' gloomy ! Enormous

  • i believe electric hellfire club, was formed by an x-member of Thrill Kill Kult, only i forgot his name.

i used to have the tape with that 44 sam or w/e

    great vid btw

  • electric hellfire club did the cover

  • I Loved it. Nice work.. It has been written Mr. Lugosi' two weeks of work on Dracula, and only getting paid 10 G's for it, type casted him for the rest of his Career and even his Afterlife Career. Robert Pattinson who was just hit by a taxi while trying to out run a Mob of fans in New York has made efforts to distance himself from the Dark Gift but it has brought him world wide fame as it did for Mr. Lugosi.

  • 10 Grand back in the 30's was a huge amount of money equivalent to about 150,000 today.

  • Fantastic song , amazing. And some parts of the video were cool too. The scene of the flying bat in slow motion was great. And the image of Bela Lugosi too

  • Thats unbelivable! A great cover version and a damn cool video... Thank you for the upload! :-)

    Dark greetings...

  • Awesome - a good ol´classic ;-)

  • see your videos are favorited! this was in my archives! the very first video I watched that you made! AWESOME!

  • bela lugosi was alwyas the best dracula gary oldman was crap at it

  • Blech, that whole movie was a total load. Stoker was rolling around in his grave.

  • great!!!

  • very nice...thanks for sharing

  • fantastic tribute! I enjoyed it

  • I must say I prefer the original.

  • I love this music better than original but who did it?

  • the electric hellfire club

  • This is like Grunge Meets Bauhaus...

  • but the music is stolen from bauhaus the real bela legusi bats

  • The original artist has to agree in order to make a COVER. Most of the time when buying a cover, a small part goes to the original artist.

    There was no theft involved.

  • holy fuck bela would be so proud!!!

  • this is a really cool video , good choice of music with clips!!!

  • guess who loves Dark Shadow too......me!

  • Amazing as hell!

  • Bela Lugosi = Immortal

  • poor Lugosi, he had the saddest life. being paid the least on the set of Dracula and constantly forced to be Dracula every waking minute before being buried in full out Dracula costume. disgusting.

  • How are you to decide being buried in his Dracula costume was not his wish?

  • i didn't decide this, he did. i believe you have a LOT of research to do. that costume and persona was the last thing he ever wanted to be completely tied to. try just a little bit of reading and you'll see some interesting things and maybe learn a few things along the way :)

  • How would i need to do research when youre now pointing out exactly what i was saying?

  • elaborate please

  • You told me he decided it himself. You told me it was his wish to enter his grave as dracula.

"How are you to decide being buried in his Dracula costume was not his wish? "

In simple english: It was his wish to be buried in his costume, while you claim otherwise in the first post i replied to.

  • At no point sir did i ever state that it was his wish to buried in the dracula costume. thats the exact opposite of what i said. IT WAS NOT LUGOSI'S WISH TO BE BURIED IN DRACULA COSTUME, HE HATED IT BUT WHOMEVER WAS INCHARGE OF HIS BURIAL THEY DECIDED HE SHOULD HAVE ON HIS DRACULA COSTUME, SOMETHING IM SURE MADE HIM TURN IN HIS GRAVE. HE HATED BEING DRACULA, PEOPLE THOUGHT OTHERWISE

  • the decision was made by his son & wife to bury him in his dracula costume

  • sorry i stand half corrected, i wasn't aware of his son and wife's request but nonetheless that was most certainly not HIS request. My original statement still stands justified.

  • @DEATHINKING

The rumor that Bela Lugosi was buried in his Dracula costume and/or cape is just that - a rumor. In fact, Forrest Ackerman owned Dracula's cape.

  • @UncleRobbie1963 . . . he was indeed buried in full Dracula garb and there are shots of his funeral to prove it. Ackerman owned one cape (actually a coat) but Lugosi owned/used several capes.

  • Caps is not needed to get your message across.

But how did you come to the fact that he hated to play Dracula and hated to be buried in his Dracula costume? Dead men dont talk.

  • if you're seriously asking a question that rediculous then you are lost my friend. clearly the deceased cannot talk. At no point did i ever say he hated being buried in dracula costume, thats commonsense, my original point was the fact he hated being dracula and with all the history of his career, you'd have to be a fucking retard to not see how he might not have wanted to buried like that. The best quoteof lugosi's hate is in Uncle John's Monumental Bathroom Reader

  • It was a simple question and yet you reply so hatefull. Did you get bullied at school again?

    Oh by the way:

    "HE HATED IT ..."

Something leads me to believe you are changing whatever your saying around everytime your proven wrong just to be able to stomp your so called "enemy" in the ground.

I was hoping for you to be better and actually give me a detailed description of where you got any of your info.

You fail at aggravating people, these kind of things dont work on me.

  • from the info that i have it paints a depressing picture of the end of his life. Im definatley not that person who likes to go around and aggravate so to present myself like that i apologise again for it is completely out of my character and i would never wish to further difficult others lives. i made myself look very poor those last few comments.hahah no i didn't get bullied, and i don't construde for my satisfaction im just horrible at putting the right points forward sometimes.

  • I might be wrong and i have no problem with that.

I asked you my first question pure out of interest to enlightenment. Now you start to call me lost and a retard (as far as you know).

Dont give me this, for it does not hurt me but it also does not help me.

I might have been wrong and i dont have any problem with that. Your problem on the other hand is that you seem to be aggravated as soon as somebody tries to prove you otherwise.

You type as an adult, start behaving like one.

  • you know what, your right and i apologise there is no reasons for me to put you down. I guess i didn't completely write what i thought i did but, what i meant to say was just that he hated the dracula costume and persona, just ignore the fact of him being buried in it for a moment because that was a different part of my topic(i guess i cramped them up together)

  • Once again sorry for being a juvenile

  • @kingcollie

actually from what I have read regarding vampire/Dracula films and actors .. Bela Lugosi requested to be buried in his cape .. as I was not actually present, I can not confirm it to be true

It has been mentioned in a Christopher Lee autobiograghy . Lord of Misrule ...which he was a personal friend ..

    ,,, read on ,,,,

  • @Pixiewish44 well i know what i said to be fact, but honestly i really don't care, i posted that a year ago, move along, move along

  • Psychodelic,gloomy n beautifull:)Well done DEATHKING:)

  • caralhooooooooooooo ty i love this fukoin song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is more xcitin than the original version in my opinion(luv bauhaus tho)

  • thank you for "getting it"!!!

  • I loathe to admit it, but this version is better than Bauhaus'.

Just as Siouxsie & the Banshees' version of 'Dear Prudence' is better than the original.

    & I H8te remakes!!!

Guess that makes me a hypocrite!

  • WHAT? Better than the original? No. Good? Yes. 'Dear Prudence' cover? Yes. But Siouxsie & the Banshees cover of "Helter Skelter" doesn't touch the original. Ha, same album too.

  • great song, where can i download it?

  • Look for the Tribute to Bauhaus CD 'Passion of Covers'. Most songs are hit or miss, but this track is worth the cost!

  • yyeeeiii EHC's version totally amazing!!

  • thanx 4 comment....it led me 2 your page....
