Carole...wonderful person. Her attitude about "it's nothing" is so what I always expected Toronto to become. She's great. She's hugely ahead of her time.

Toronto, get over the concept of gay. Gay community, please do the same, and stop parading it. Seriously, it's not an event anymore. The more you parade it, the more it becomes an annoyance.

I like fish, but you don't see me parading that, do you? Get over it. Nobody cares.

@BeeRich33 It actually tends to be straight people who 'parade' it more than gay people (at least in the media) Adam Lambert didnt parade it, but the media hounded him to come out, same with Ricky Martin, Jodie Foster etc.. All these public individuals were trying to live their lives quitley.It's more the heterosexuals who care than the gay community

@EffLabels I completely disagree. The media behaves for its own reasons. They like to create the news. We also don't hold a parade to remind people every year that we're straight. Ultimately, the environment for everybody is to just deny recognition of sexuality. I don't see it serving much anyway.

@BeeRich33 I dont' know HOW you can say the media doesnt attempt to 'out' people, or pry into their sexuality.All sorts of groups, whether they be ethnic or otherwise, have parades and celebrations. I agree that it really shouldnt matter what anybody is,we should be able to deny recogniton of sexuality, but sadly when others do not have equal rights, then some groups feel they need to create some sort of visibility. It it werent for some of those marches, homosexuals would still be jailed.

@EffLabels No, you mistook me. I know the media does that, but it's because they need news. I know what a parade is. I only know of one that celebrates a group's sexuality. The Toronto Pride parade didn't get people out of jail. And there is no need for them today, if everything you say is right. It's a huge pain for traffic.

@BeeRich33 I am assuming you're young. Historically parades and marches were done to bring attention to injustices towards minority groups.(eg, gays in jail etc..) Today it has become a tradition. You think there is no need for them today? LOL Prop 8, death penalty in some countures. Yes, canada is FAR more advacnced, but dont assume you dont get biggots there, and the parade is a friendly reminder that gays DO exisit. Do you have an issue when blacks march? or the irsh celebrate St Patyts?

@BeeRich33 lol Isnt Toronto IN Canada? You just said you have parades, so what's actually wrong with gay *Canadians* having a parade? BTW Toranto DOES have a St Patrick's day parades, you also have Greek independnce day parades. Maybe you should get to know your city better.

@EffLabels What's wrong? 1. Nobody cares. 2. Nobody cares. 3. Get out of the way of people trying to get around a city. Those other parades I've never even heard of, nor have run into. The gay ones (yes, more than 1) go on for days. Take the parading into the bath houses and bars. Bloody silly.
