I think the best thing about this video is that the characters in question might very well act like that, much like how the characterizations make the Hare Hare Yukai plausible for the characters. Got to say though, I cracked up when I saw how perfect the lineup for the pom-pom segment was.

I'm probobly guessing they used 3DMAX/Maya for the characters (plus rigging for movement), 3D enviroment creation software for the multiple sections of scenes and possably Maya again to bring it all together with dance steps, characters and scenes all together with camera movement.
