Digital editing on any common PC or Mac has totally changed media. Before we used reel to reel tape and cut the tape with razorblades to put programs and audio together. Analog video required rooms of equipment just to merge two pieces of tape together. When 2 track digital audio software came out it cost $2,500 and it came on a 486 computer.

Now days using Adobe Audition 3 retail cost is 348 dollars, it will install on a home PC, and can multi track record up to 128 channels.
