I have never heard of this before so I am a bit confused. Does this alter the texture of your hair or does it go back to how it was before the treatment? Thanks :D!
@MsJanny12 It took me by surprise actually, it was still curly but the curls were bigger and looser. That took a little getting used to. But I only wore it that way when I was ready to end the bkt. I started washing my hair with salt to remove it. Its a slow process to remove it but it eventually came out.
@Tennissgirl My stylist said you have to have a license to get the product that she used. They do have home versions of keratin treatments tho, I know you can buy one at Walmart called Organix Brazilian Keratin Treatment, not sure of the results tho. There are also some others you may be able to find at Sally's...
@crystalchiles I wrote it down somewhere and lost it, I 'm sorry...I will call the lady who did it and get that info because I am sure a lot of people are curious
r u aware that they use formaldehyde in ALL keratin treatments that have a straightening effect? Basically, the same thing they use to EMBALM dead bodies! It's not natural at all, hun:o0 U may need to do your OWN research, hun:o)
@prettydaune Yes I AM AWARE! And I HAVE done my OWN research, which is why I tell everyone to do their research before they decide on doing it. First and foremost, the level of formaldehyde that was used in my hair was not as high. Secondly, even with it being in the product it takes a lot more than one time to cause any kind of harm to me. Third, when you comment on videos you may want to come off with a little less attitude, especially since you don't know me like that in the first place.
In the very first picture, your hair looked AHH-MAZING! I literally thought "why the fridge would you mess up those curls?!" i was jealous to say the least. :] . . .
@teardropsrnng THANK YOU! :) I had the same thought after it was straight lol, for me, straight hair was so boring so I started washing it out within 2 weeks.... I missed my curls! :)
Thanks for posting this video.... we have the same texture of hair. i thinking of doing a keratin treatment. To loosen my curl and be able to wear my hair straight or curly. with out having to take 3 hours to do it.
so After doing the treatment you could wash it out or rinse it out and it will help loosen curls? or will i need to straighten my hair once for the loosening effect?
@mya32189 It takes MANY MANY MANY washes to wash it out completely, but after your first wash it will be loose, then as u wash it, it gradually gets tighter and tighter reverting back to your original texture (at least thats how it worked on my hair type, other hair types may not have the same effect)
@mya32189 I thought the same thing too, I thought maybe if u use the keratin but don't apply heat to the hair then maybe it will loosen the curls and define them better but the keratin treatment needs the high heat to lock the keratin in so that wouldn't work. However, After i got my BKT, I got so bored with straight hair, i missed my curls so after 2 weeks I began the process of washing it out, it takes a long time to wash out completely. It has been a month & my curls are still a little loose.
@mya32189 You can but it kinda defeats the purpose to be honest with you...when you wash it your hair will go back to curly but the curls will be really loose...at first i thought that was what I wanted but it proved to be more complicated because any touch made the curl go flat so I went ahead and straightened it.
@mya32189, Yes, whenever you wash it you need to blow dry and flat iron again BUT it cuts the time dramatically...took me about 20 minutes and it used to take 2 hours
@ubergirliz1 Thanks! I used Fantasia IC gel to slick it down, it works okay but for me its just ok...good thing about it is it doesnt make ur hair hard :)
Wow looks nice! love the curls tho after the wash. Do you wear it in a wash n go or curly style also? If so do you have any pics of it curly after the bkt?
@kelly4t Yes, I got bored with straight hair after 2 weeks and started wearing it in a wash and go. The curls were more loose than before. Every time I wash my hair the curls get tighter because it takes a while for the keratin to wash out. It has been almost a month since I got the BKT and my texture is halfway back to normal because I washed with shampoo and table salt.
@MsJonas09 I'm sorry, I don't remember what color that was but I do remember it was a color by Dark and Lovely...I usually go for auburn colors tho. It didn't burn or hurt and it usually takes about 3 hours but because my hair is so tightly curled and thick it took 4 hours...
wooooooo ur curls after the champoo are soo pretty and nice done...

@candlecane It temporarily straightens the hair, once the BKT is washed out the hair goes back to its original texture.

@EbbonyTX Since I got the treatment the only thing I have noticed is that it straightens much faster and is a bit more manageable.
