  • There is only one way this plant is going to have true peace, righteous justice, & wholesome living for all peoples and creation..."for yet for a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the ABUNDANCE OF PEACE." From the oldest of Holy Writings

Psalms 37 ... May Robert Redford be blessed for his meekness as we approach Rev 16:14-16!!!

  • Too bad there are no mountains on the coastal plain! What a load of caribou feces! Redford is wack job along with the rest of you treehugger plastic using hypocrites. His shirt was transported to him by oil, the dye in it has oil in it, he washed it using detergent made from oil, the plastic buttons are from oil, the shampoo he uses in his hair comes from oil. Redford is a TOTAL HYPOCRITE!!!! Drill the hell outta the place! Go Sarah Go!

  • Protect America the Beautiful! Don't vote for those who would destroy it for profit. Vote for those who would protect our national refuges. Dare to care. Vote Obama!

  • yea ryangrayson why don't you apply for the part of the horse!!!

  • it's arCtic Robert Redfuck.

  • Exxon was more worried about its public image after the spill. They showed the world how they sent workers to clean the shores of Prince William Sound, yet if you go there today and dig a little bit you can still see the deadly remiments of the oil. The U.S. exports about half of it's domestic oil to other countries anyways. Oil companies are just in it for the money, it has nothing to do with American pride.

  • What a bunch of crap Redford you should stick to movies about men cornholing a horse

  • Can you say anything that would support your opposition? Because coming off as an ignorant ass isn't helping your cause.

  • I'm speaking to offshore4848 not Redford btw.

  • I'll say something! The north slope of Alaska has not been destroyed by the pipeline. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game states the pipeline has had minimal effect on wildlife and the Caribou population has grown from 3000 to 23,000 in that area! The caribou population for Alaska is at an all time high of 950,000 and growing, even with the hunting of 30,000 a year!Alaska is 375 million acres the ANWR drilling foot print will be 2000 acres..no one is going to destroy it!

  • RIGHT ON, NRDC!

30 yrs ago lines at the pumps. Today $3 gas at the pumps. ETHANOL distilled FROM CORN can replace up to 85% of gas for cars; WIND TURBINES for farm electricity, the extra watts sold TO the electric cos. Desert SUN gives energy for most of the year. In Japan subay WALKERS power small motors in mats underfoot; Japan leaps ahead & not by drilling. WIND, SUN, WATER, & maybe even FOOT power loom as relief. 30 yrs. of rich oil cos. ENOUGH drilling talk!

  • What a crock of shit. You tree huggers said the same same 30 years ago about the Alaska pipe line.Wrong!Drill,Drill,Drill.

  • Can you say DENIAL? Conservation and innovation is the key, I would hope someone with your years would have more wisdom if not common sense. Let me guess, you drive a Ford F150 for a 40 mile one way commute too. Why do you have to be so hateful and threatened by progressive thinking? Hopefully you did not breed for 2 reasons; mental giants such as yourself should not be adding to the population, and the legacy you'll leave with your myopic vision will be one of travesty for your offspring.

  • Eriyah you are correct I do own a F-150 but I commute with a Celica.Billions of Americian dollars are being spent foolishly on oil that can be drilled domestic. We are sending billions of dollars to people who want us DEAD.Anwar,Alaska is vast, with next to NOTHING there. You did not mention the environmental success of the Alaska pipe line. What is there to fear? A weaker OPEC?

  • What to fear? The cavalier ineptitude of those in control of such ventures. Exxon in spite of record profits still hasn't cleaned up its Valdez mess. The pipeline has over 500 leaks a year and the one in march- at least 267,000 gallons poured out of a corroded pipeline at the Prudhoe Bay complex for five days before being discovered. The last integrity check was performed in 92. They knew it had a 30 yr shelf life. Treehuggerubet hit the nail on the head, alternatives, not status quo drilling.

  • Exxon has spent 5 BILLION cleaning up Valdez.Exxon converted to double hull tankers 6 years before the law required to help prevent new spills.Tankers traveling thru the Sound today have a mandatory escort. The 267,000 gallons can also be called 4,900 barrels.A 4,900 barrel spill can be cleaned.Change will take place, but it will take time.

  • yes they've spent 5 bil for Valdez and its still NOT complete, after 15 YEARS wildlife/sea life are still being poisoned/contaminated. How responsible is it to not test the stability of pipeline for 14 years in the most frigid and harsh environment in the world? They don't learn. Investing trillions in oil development and space travel to create a planet to colonize is ludicrous, invest that $ to fix our problems here. It could have been done 30 years ago.

  • Well said. I agree with every word except space exploration. Overpopulation is coming with a speed.

  • The world is paying for our resistance to change, corporate greed/corruption and apathy. everybody wants their cake, most seem to marginalize the altruistic environmentalist's legitimate concerns because to acknowledge them would morally require them the inconvenience of accountability. Reuse, recycle, compost, conserve, live simply, think globally, act locally. Read "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" John Perkins and "Vegan the new ethics of eating" Eric Marcus. GO VEGAN TODAY!

  • Amen! well said!

People have to start accepting the truth! temperatures are rising, species are going extinct, and cars are using 100 year old technology.

People don't want to be "bothered" with giving a damn, but they can't ignore it forever

  • corporate greed?..lol as you sit here watching Youtube owned by Google, on your computer, powered by electricity, using the web, over cable, phone lines or satellite, put into space, all by corporations!Guess that makes you one greedy bastard! Maybe you should send your pc,Ipod, digital camera etc to the recycle center, have your power turned off,get some farmland,a plow and a wash tub and revert back to the good old days!
