All you have to do is press D right click shift and E? Are kidding me. Screw this game. A game that relys on you memorizes essentially codes. Is stupid. I dont really want to waste my time memorizing all these codes. Seriously though. It takes you 4 hotkeys to do 1 thing for your siege tanks. I blame blizzard for not making that more simple.
@GeOhDe001 Chill dude...hotkeys are everywhere. Screw firefox for making me use Command + T to open a new tab, and photoshop sucks for making me press G to get my paint bucket and having to press A to get back to my selection tool. It's a game, and hotkey's don't need to be used, they just make you faster if you learn em.
how can you automatically select 3 drones from ah 20 drone selection without having to click the drone icons one at a time? this could help me in mining for the gas....
Shift.... Whether it is one command or multiple commands, always hold Shift to issue commands... It is a good habit to have. SO I COMMAND YOU! AT THE BEGINNING OF EVERY COMMAND, HOLD SHIFT UNTIL YOUR LAST COMMAND... COMMAND EVERY DETAIL... EVERY DETAIL.
i played starcraft 1 and now i wanna buyy starcraft 2 but with all the hotkeys it looks so hard to play damm you have to live 4 this game to control it fuck this hotkey shit why not some basic simple hotkeys 4 everyone
If anything micro is easier in starcraft 2 compared to sc1 you had to use all the control groups for your buildings + units now if u really want u can group the whole lots a 1 A to a location... its not exactly difficult seige tanks is as hard as it gets maybe blink stalkers
@Gambling4Life Blink stalkers are really not that hard. First of all you don't have to wait before issuing other commands, like in siege tanks. Second, you only need to right click the place and then B and left click wherever you want. If you mean by in battle microing, Stalkers are wayyy easier, since they are mobile the whole time. Lets say you want to move weak Stalkers to the back, just select it and quickly B and left click.
Got sick and tired of finding all sorts of sc2 guides you have to pay for... So I, as a diamond player, figured I'd just put the most important tips online on; starcrafttips(dot)tk
I've had some diamond and platinum players help me as a favor, so it's all costfree, no signup or anything ^^ And it's no spam btw xD
I hate some aspect of micro control. Because some micro controls are result of shortcomings of the game design.
I would like to see some script language that would allow to pre-record behaviour of units and upload it before or during the game. Something like IF...[AND]...THEN...
The units when left alone or in action often behave like lunatics. There is not enough AI behind each unit. This is warfare and the unit should know its place in the team. If not I want to be able to script its behaviour.
@gespilk idd totally agree!!...that was always the problem i would see comming in SC2....they never changed the base mechanic which is good...to keep it in its original state...but it feels also very outdated.
Do you have any tips for controlling tanks within a large ball of anything else? For example say you want to leapfrog only half your tanks. If you double click them, you select all tanks. If you click and drag, you select all units, and even if you tab through to tanks, the right click movement makes infantry not attack. If you A-move, then the tanks shoot with the pellet gun instead of moving right away. I have the same problem controlling medivacs. Does this make sense? Thx for posting!
for the tanks i think u can hit D, then hold shift and right click the spot u want it to move, then hold shift and pressss E, u dont have to actjually wait for it to stop sieging,... I THINK correct me if im wrong.
Awesome vid, I wish there were more like it. I will be checking out your site....I know of macro / micro, and implement them, but I'm trying to learn as much as possible to improve my gameplay and vids like this help a lot, so ty! Very informative & well done, having it in Hi-Def is great as well. 10/10.
Yes you can hold shift at any point as long as you're holding it when you hit E. Holding it right before you hit E is the most efficient method. If you want to hold shift then entire time, then feel free. Keep in mind the error message that you will receive if you do the movement command too quickly after hitting D.
Great job with these videos, I'd say you are definitely the most informative of the commentators, not quite as "entertaining" (to be honest) but are we watching to learn or to laugh? To learn for sure, and I've almost learned more in watching your 3 matches than I have watching the other popular commentators. So again, great job, keep up the awesome work!
I played Starcraft back in the day, but I wasn't good. I never used hotkeys, had no sense of build order, and no micro. Things like this, that some people might take for granted, help me.
Good video. Thanks

@0asian1nvasion0 never stop making drones/scvs/probes... until you have about 70 - 80. spread them out over 4 bases to maximize efficiency.

@Roshan3L
Indeed, it feels outdated. Many people would not understand...and tend to give me hard time if I say this type of thing.
I am looking forward for SC3 (if ever made). Perhaps it would be a completely different experience.

Do you ever suggest making your siege tanks have their own control group outside the main army control group?
BillyBobTS 1 year ago
@BillyBobTS Don't quote me on this, but the sieges jump to the top of the list in a MM tank ball, so you can just 1, TAB, E, Click, to seige.
