ONLY 1 in 1 MILLION people get this disease, it is SO rare. This is listed under NORD - National Organization for Rare Disorders. And no, there is NO chemical imbalance in the blood or anywhere in the body. The disease has NO cure. We suffer from it every day, all day, every second of the day. Didn't you see her muscle wasting? Proof! I am stuck in the house because it is to painful to go out. My husband does EVERYTHING around the house. It is just as hard on him. He's a GEM! There ARE good men!

Yes! She is VERY lucky to have a WONDERFUL husband who cares for her as my husband does for me. Without help we can't function. Doubt all you want. Look it up and read several different searches on Stiff Person Syndrome. The disease completely robs you of everything in your life. Even a mix of medications I take does NOT make the rigidity and spasms go away. I feel for her as I go thru what she does. I never contacted the news though nor any newspapers. I've felt VERY alone with this. VERY rare.

I have this same thing. It's called Stiff Person Syndrome. You need a Movement Disorder Neurologist that has experience with this disease. This is how I was diagnosed. It IS progressive & gets to the point where you feel like you can't breathe. She is lucky she can lie on her side. I am stuck only sleeping in a recliner and can't have my back muscles touch a thing or they get rigid and spasm out of control. You people who doubt this are hatred people. It comes out of nowhere and takes our lives.

Odd that they can't get a diagnosis, even a partial one so they can try different treatments. Seems like a rheumatoid disease or Myositis ossificans (muscle calcification).
