Incredible, they always say that "there's not enough research", there's never enough research, even if there was a thousand researches they would still say the same thing, while on the other hand with only one flawed research a dangerous pharmaceutical drug gets approved and commercialized. The problem is elsewhere, because if we begin accepting hyperbaric therapy as a regular treatment for a long list of possible applications (see Dr. Harch's website), people will need less and less pharm drugs
To get insurnace companies to cover Hyperbaric Therapy.....we would need thousands and thousands of people to start asking for it to be covered. It starts with 1 person standing up and saying they want Hyperbaric to be added and then everyone telling there friends about it and having them call their insurance company. Eventually it will be added. Hopefully in my lifetime : ) As Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy gave my wife a 2nd chance at life.
I'm about to publish an eBook to be sold through Amazon that people can buy and download and read and submit to their insurance that fully documents the who, how, and why, HBOT has been successfully suppressed for brain-injury for 40+ years.
@issjason Good luck with that! There is no way that HBOT will be taken seriously because there is no evidence to support its use other than a narrow scope of conditions that are related to acute oxygen deprivation. No studies have shown stroke patients benefit from HBOT.
@issjason true that, issjason. the same goes to my country. despite us having a partial subsidies from the government, it is still expensive from even middle-class income group. the doctors especially, has to be optimistic about this treatment. many are still doubting the 'power' of hyperbaric treatment. they usually substantiate their view with such things like; it is too expensive, time consuming and has little results.
Look for a center that does Mild Hyperbaric therapy - 40 sessions would be around $4000 much for affordable. Mild Hyperbaric Therapy helps with 80% of cases. You stillget 92% oxygen and its still under pressure. Try contacting the International Hyperbaric Association for a referral in your area.
My grandaughter had a stroke in utero, (look at Kylie's Journey Video On My Site) I would love to try this with her but naturally health insurance doesn't cover it and the cost I heard is about $20,000 for so many treatments! Who has that kind of money now days? IF this REALLY works, WHY isn't the FDA approving it and making insurance companies cover it? People can't afford this kind of "Out Of Pocket" expense now days!
im mr Jin C. and my mother suffer stroke right i wonder if could my mother can undergo this kind of theraphy?i willing to do everthing as far she can recover back to normal.....i hope you can help me please...im begging on you....help me please!!!!!!!!
I am a Certified Hyperbaric Technician and work in a hyperbaric clinic in southern california. If your interested in any help/information please let me know
@sploc310 How about providing the citations for the evidence that HBOT is effective for treating conditions other than those of acute oxygen deprivation....like ulcerated wounds...There is NO evidence that HBOT is effective for conditions of the nervous system...NONE....
There's plenty of documentation that shows what gases can do under pressures, especially what oxygen does to the CNS. The information can be found all over the internet. Ever try google? Type in hyperbaric medicine and the CNS there is plenty of information on it. I work with CNS disorder patients everday and see first hand the effects on their CNS & the difference it makes in their lives, so what you do again? And what makes you an expert in the this growing advancing field? please tell me
@sploc310 I am sorry, but you do not know what you are talking about. Researchers and others with an education in health science do not use "Google", dummy. Try Pubmed and use the appropriate search terms: "efficacy" and "autism" and "hyperbaric oxygen". Imagine, there are people out there with an education that far exceeds yours!
I am sorry YOU don't know what your talking about. I suggested you use google because obviously you have no education/experience in this field or health care as it clearly shows by you running your dumb ignorant mouth. Everybody else on this comment page agrees it does, except you. Its funny how you can't answer any of my questions in my prior post but all you can do is insult my intelligence when you don't even know me or anything about hyperbarics, fool
@sploc310 Hey goof, I am a physiotherapist and have a PhD in neuroscience and my area is motor control. I actually DO know what I am talking about. Try going to university and getting something called a DEGREE and then go on to grad school and get more DEGREES and DO RESEARCH and STUDY SCIENCE. Please offer a single peer-reviewed, independent RCT study that supports HBOT for autism.
@sploc310 It is the responsibility of the claimee to provide the evidence for it, and so far the emperor has no clothes. There is NO EVIDENCE that HBOT is effective for the treatment of autism. Autism itself is a spectrum of disorders, so even the diagnosis is complex and for that reason, it makes understanding the etiology difficult. But, regardless of this, there is no proof of concept that HBOT could even work. Please get an education in health science at a reputable university.
@sploc310 You said, "Everybody else on this comment page agrees it does, except you." How old are you, 12? What kind of retarded comment is that? As if the efficacy of a particular therapeutic intervention is based on consensus of a bunch of under educated goofs who agree with you? Come on pal. You better hope that your doctor doesn't follow that mantra. Why not ask your little pals on Facebook?
Hey hot shot, u must have nothing better to do than run your mouth all day on you tube like all the other little girls out there. I'll catch you in my Hyperbaric chamber when you suffer a stroke or your child suffers from autism wishing like all my other patients that they never listening to ignorant fools like you and did hyperbarics sooner to better their lives. Im done with this conversations. I actually have a life and work to do. Keep rambling on bitch,
@sploc310 Hey pal, you can sit in your chamber all day long, but, until you can show evidence that it is effective, then you are going to be sitting all alone. GO IT EINSTEIN?
@sploc310 It is always funny to watch how immature some people get when they all of a sudden find themselves way over their head in a topic, no idea what they are talking about....then they resort to childishness. Ya, you call me a "bitch" and somehow that adds credence to your argument? Retard. Try just going to university and getting an education instead of selling bs.

Does science ever enter into the minds of people making comments about this? There is NO EVIDENCE that HBOT is effective for brain injury.

you can do it yourself
Design an hbot chamber, study hard to assure correct usage of it
It would cost a few hundred though
