WTF? Parents complain that Video Games make their kids do violent things, and do crimes and stuff. Video game companies are just trying to make their profit. and if you think video games do that to children, then why the hell do you buy the game for your child or allow them to play it, and for the parents wanting to ban violent video games. there is alot of things to start banning then, cuz just as easily your child could sneak into your porn collection and stuff

My opinion is everyone is different, others see a game to pretend to kill for our entertainment...others use the game to train themselves to kill in real life... Just like the saying "guns dont kill people, people kill people" applies here. People kill people, not games

How many people have been injured during a computer game brawl? Shall we compare that number (I would estimate zero) to the number of people injured or killed participating in, or even just spectating, a football match? How about we compare people who kill because of their computer game (thus far nil, even accounting for the Columbine event which was concluded to be caused by depression and social ostracism) to people who kill because of their religion? So far gamers are looking pretty tame.

Be responsible. Parents need to know what their children are watching and playing. They also know their child best and if they have predispositions to aggression and violent behavior. Children and adolescents are vulnerable to the messages conveyed. These messages influence their perceptions and behaviors. Many children cannot discriminate between what they see and what is real. Teach and limit and even restrict violent video games if necessary in your home.

Ask how many kids have been taught that video games are not real.Also ask if parents have been always saying that.Then ask the parents.Then you know how unresposible some parents are.Dont just buy your kids video games without teaching him that it is not real,or just dont give him a video game till old enough.Its like teaching a teen about having sex when also teaching about condoms,and teaching that sex is a bad idea untill older(you know the rest of the story,resposible, ect)...

this is a big issue. i am a video game lover and i would like to know the truth about video games and not blind myself by saying "oh its the parents" or accuse people of using video games as a scapegoat. my mind is open enough to see that video games in childrens hands can be dangerous if not properly managed. but going around and attacking the people who suggest that video games may have a role in aggression telling them stuff like "YOU JUST DONT UNDERSTAND US GAMERS" is stupid and illogical!

If we're going to ban violent games, why stop there. No one should ever be able to read "The Catcher in the Rye".

and as naturally, the politicians don't take him seriously because they did not hear what they wanted to hear.

But when the videogame generation grows and takes the office, the lies and slander against videogames by those who know nothing about videogames would some day ground to a halt and we can get closer knowing that there is no answer to solve real violence.
