Sorry, everyones entitled to their opinion but I've seen the Bluetones many times as they are regular visitors to the Highlands of Scotland and any new band could learn a thing or two from these guys about melody, great lyrics and the importance of top notch live performance. The Bluetones deserve any plaudits they get and are as good now as they were 15 years ago! Just my opinion, of course!!
Get Loaded in the Dark hits the Coronet on Thursday 1st April 2010 and is set to be another sell-out episode!

i saw them live at an intimate gig only bout 60 people went it was their warm up gig the day b4 they did glasto managed to meet them after and get on there tour bus
I was lucky enough to meet Mark when I DJ supported him at a local solo gig. A geniune, modest and sweet man. Great gig too. He mixed Bluetones stuff with some nice covers including Gouge Away by the pixies and Alcaholiday by the Fanclub.
It's funny cos the lead singer can't drive. yesterday he said 'my driving test's in about 10 days. up til now I've always had a chauffer.... yeah, right.'
It's true.. Mark only passed his theory a couple of months ago... I asked him what took him so long to start driving, and he said he didn't know... But I guess because he's doing his solo stuff now, driving beats getting the train everywhere - well, that is if he doesn't miss it!! A group of us met up in Manchetser on Saturday and we all signed a card for him, which he was rather chuffed with... We all know he'll pass it...
I have never noticed before but when they are in the car when it starts flying, just how much Scott (the guy in the back behind the passenger, for those that don't know...) looks like Chris Clein (of Amaerican Pie / Just Friends...)
Proof that there were some truly great songwriters in the mid/late 90s Britpop era. Certainly miles ahead of a lot of the crap that passes as guitar pop in Britain circa 2007!
Writing a song about being in love with a car is great. See "I'm In Love With My Car" by Queen too.

@AIFL Of course, everybody thinks that what they like is truly "the best" and if they don't like it then it's not good.
