  • if we showed this to someone from the 1920's....they're head would explode

  • it´s sooooooooo cool!! and Paul´s mom was..."!OMG, OMG!!!!!"

  • woah his voice.. how dose he sound like that!?! lots of practice i guess

  • Oh crap, now I have to converse with him?!

  • Is this like a new invention mask for Disney ? XD lol

  • Hey, I never knew that Mickey's mouth and eyes could move when he's in Disneyland and Disney World.

  • this is cool but at the same time extremely scary

  • See you in November Mickey! :D! I'm SOOOO Xcited!!!

  • so how does this work exactly??

  • that is...AMAZING!! :D

  • @ 00:19 When Mickey said 3 yrs old.. he only raised 2 fingers... hehe..

Mickey needs one more finger... :P

  • My nephew would die if he met Mickey. Haha. :)

  • @joyceyqueenie awww:)

  • oh my goodness<3

  • how is it possible? to blink and talk? the mask.

  • @Valonaren it's all computers plus there's something inside so the person's voice sounds like mickey when they talk

  • @Valonaren I think it's a animatronic head.

  • God I wonder how they do that..

  • Now they have to worry about him blinking in pictures :(

  • aww i love the mom's reaction at 0:20

  • This...is...so...cool... The future of Disney is upon us!!! Imagine if they did this for every single costume?!? I'm gonna have to go to Disney land now, and spend a whole day hunting down every single character for pictures e-e

  • i never seen mickey talk beofre

  • @MattBDq: Ummm...no. Mickey is for everyone, no matter the age.

  • @MattBDq: Mickey is for all! Mickey REPRESENTS the spirit of his creator, Walt. In fact, that's what Wayne Allwine (3rd Mickey) was told by Jimmy MacDonald (2nd Mickey), in saying to "Remember, you're only filling in for the boss (Uncle Walt)." And given all the marriage stuff & an 1933 interview with Uncle Walt himself, the studio officially believes that, despite being endless lovers on-screen, the two mice are privately married. No wonder they have separate housing, due to the media frenzy!

  • HOW HAS THIS NOT GONE VIRAL????

  • Wow that's so cool

  • I don't care if I'm turning 21 in two months, I still love Disney and Mickey! This is phenomenal stuff Disney is doing. I will never stop being a kid!

  • but why will u call mickey stupid and after all his cute and why will u gys wont make photos with mickey mickey is are cartoon favorite when we were big you hurted mickey's feeling

    :(

  • and his eyes moved too! unbelieveable!

  • @DisneyParks, how did they make there talking mickey? By making the metal of it first then they put a cloth afterwards. Is it loud? Please reply tomarrow.

  • lol he blinked in picture

  • Goodness me, that's simply incredible! What a wonderful thing.

  • OMG! he is very real lol

  • I wonder how they see now?

  • You know he sometimes talk

  • This is such amazing technology, I can't wait until Imagineering develops it enough to implement it into all of the characters as a regular thing!

  • Am I weird for tearing up while watching this?

  • @cait72590 Not at all!

  • @cait72590 Definitely not, I did too.

  • Absolutely awesome work Imagineers! Walt would be very proud. Amazing technology. What a difference this can make in the lives of children! I remember always wondering why they wouldn't talk. :( Then as you get older...you start to understand. But for a kid now, they get to meet the REAL MICKEY MOUSE! How much more amazing could that get? To have Mickey know your name!

  • This is really one of the best innovations in Disney ever. Kids will absolutely loves this and adults will as well. In fact, I think I'd be more excited to meet talking Mickey than my 3 year old.

  • This must the the Coolest thing on Earth, beeing a Mickey Mouse at a Disney Park

  • Oh my gosh why wasn't I burn in America / France / Japan to go see Mickey when I was 3 years old..

  • @paraureon

If you would Burning this wouldn't not so good for you...

  • It's not hard to find a good actor who can do a Mickey impression, search on youtube there are hundreds, maybe a built in vocaliser to help. The mouth simply moves to sound when the actor is speaking. There is probably only one really good actor hence why it would be so rare to meet him for a limited time.

  • @explorer47422 I think there's a voice changer thingy in the mouth.

  • I wanna talk with Mickey ....I think I would be giggling the whole time...

  • Wait wait wait, since when can Mickey Mouse actually talk at Disney World?

  • @ChrisMolyneaux93 thats disneyland

  • This is so brilliant! I'm so glad they are improving all the characters like this! I always thought it was weird that they didn't talk! Now, if only they could make him much shorter, ha, and do this with all the other non-human characters too! Also, Captain Hook and other human toons need to be done as humans like Pan and the Princesses are.

  • WOW...wowowowowowowowow....

please, please PLEASE let these test runs convinced the panel to put mickey out talking to guests. PLEEAASEEE.

I wanna talk to mickey bfore i turn 22!! DX yes im old and disney fan and DONT CAREEEE!!! XD!

  • Hi, Mickey! Sofia has something to tell you. Lean her your ear.

  • @11hassanm1 I actually got a bit teary-eyed to this comment. :)

  • @Harriman22 xD Yeah. I'm concerned about the people who don't. They'll ask Donald to repeat everything.

  • HA! I knew it! he is real!!! :D

  • I want Donald to talk. :) He's my favorite Disney character!

  • When will Mickey Minnie Donald Goofy Pluto stitch and the other characters start talking or Play-Testing to guests at the Disney Parks and Disney magic kingdoms

  • I'm going back to Disneyland. I DON'T CARE HOW OLD I AM!

  • I wonder how you see out of it. I mean really the eyes blink and the mouth moves! HOW CAN YOU SEE??

  • 5 people were blinded by awesomeness and pressed dislike by accident

  • if they do that with goofy i can just imagine him saying "ooo gawrsh i think i blinked! uh hyck!"

  • This is so cool! My Uncle told me about two months ago that they were developing something like this, but I thought that he was just joking around! This is so cool!

  • :D i want him!!!

  • @11hassanm1 He so would.

  • oh my goodness. I'm so glad they can do this now! hopefully in around 7 or 8 years when I bring my own kids to Disneyland, they'll have this all over the parks with all the characters! talk about a magical experience!

  • i would be scared of the it' kinda creapy

  • @AngellMariie I believe they had the talking Mickey in the premiere of World of Color

  • i wonder if mickey likes the haunted mansion cause on disney on ice minnie says that she loves the haunted mansion weird eh?

  • good with kids

  • play-testing

  • is he still there!!??

  • omg! i want to see talking mickey! is this in anahiem? im going to disneyland tomrrow&im gonna be on the lookout for him&peter:)

  • This is amazing! Walt Disney would definitely be proud! Great job Imagineers!

  • (This is gonna make me sound so stupid) How did they do it?

  • Although slightly creepy (to some small kids) I adore the look of wonder on the kids faces :) It's so sweet

  • I love this!!!!! Finally the kids can hear the characters talk back to them!

  • Yeah... I agree with both people below!

  • That is awesome .... even the expressions of the parents is priceless!!!

  • awwww that mickey talks! is that in florida?

  • @tiannasbff sorry but it in disneyland califorina

  • :22 the mom is more amazed at Mickey talking than her son

  • "Oh my goodness............oh my goodness"

That's all I can say to what I just saw. That was a amazing!

  • how does the person in the suit know what to say and what do they use to speak? or was this pe-ehearsed?

  • how do they do That!!

  • @DisMupPix010 They could be implimenting it soon though, as early as December is what I last heard. I only wish they would do all the characters at the same time, and not just Mickey. Just to avoid those awkward questions from the more curious kids, "Why didn't Donald say anything?" Or have them asking Goofy and the others questions but getting no response.

  • 0:06

    "Huh?"

I think that is hillarious. Mickey is doing his own stuff when these random people are at his door.

"Huh? .........................Oh boy, ya made it!!"

Someone must of not told Mickey that people were coming over. LOL

  • they're gonna TALK now?! oh, whoa... i'm already out of my childhood years and this is pretty exciting to see, so i know little kids in the future will just have their minds blown if all the characters in the park actually talk to them.

  • @disney798

    D:< DONT RUIN IT!!

  • omgsh this is amazing <33 i fell in love with Disney 1000000x more now((if thats even possible))! i have to get to California!!! D8 @softballfreako Don't worry you're not the only one.. I would definitely cry as well!! no matter how weird i would look! Walt Is Definitely Smiling Right Now w/o a Doubt R.I.P

  • dis is unfreaknbelivable i hpe u guys can use this b4 florida gets a hold of this!!!

  • he looks so real!

  • now we have to worry about them blinking in pictures! ROFLOL

  • @CPpopedd I just notice that too!! lol

  • @CPpopedd I think they take about 2-4 pictures if it's a talking Mickey just to make sure!

  • OMG!! That's amazing!! I wanna see Mickey talk!!

  • its kool how they could make him talk and interact with the guests :)

  • thats cute.

  • HE TALKS????

  • @JUKIO01 Actually, it is new. In Dream Along, it is very easy to see how they control the eyes and mouth (watch the hands) and they work with prerecorded dialogue. With this technology, Mickey doesn't have to use his hands to talk and blink, he's able to do it on his own.

  • Id ask him how he got so giant.

  • WHOA his mouth moves... thats new.

  • OH DEAR GOD HIS MOUTH MOVES!!!!

  • THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!! I would definately visit Mickey EVER time I go to Disneyland, hahaha. This is a little kid dream come true, and I'm 19, hahah

  • @baddogsboy go to disneyland paris if you want french....

  • @tvgator1 Really? I think you are not getting the point that those characters are universal. People from all around the WORLD are going to Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Mickey speaks their language (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, French, Russian, etc). So to say to go to DL Paris if I want French is just ridiculous. I just think it spoils the illusion for small kids. That's all. It's my point of view. So please respect it.

  • This is truly amazing!!! Way to go imagineers!!!

  • is the person in the costume is making the mouth move

  • Man, If I saw that, I'd be like Gene Wilder in Stir Crazy.

  • This is so awesome! I really hope they have a talking Mickey Mouse at Disney World, FL

  • hey Disneyland this is really amazing!

hey engineers here's a little tip:

how about training the people in the suits how to speak at least Spanish

  • @princeofChulavista

    "how about NO, Scott."

  • @goo83 what do you mean

  • @princeofChulavista: The characters are American. Besides, i's hard enough for the Disney Imagineers to implement ENGLISH talking characters, so for now, you'll just deal with them being English, alright?

  • Amazing!!! 8O How did you do that?!!

  • Wow!!!

  • what park is that?

  • @baddogsboy Now that i look at it, your right. I've been seeing something off but i couldnt figure it out till now. His mouth needs an Improvement : the need to give him his dimples back and open the mouth a little more (it doesnt look like a smile compared to the older mickey. Another thing is where his face ends. you dont notive before but now that he talks the black under mask shos up too much

  • Go imagineers! This is amazing

  • A bit of constructive critisism. This is beyond cool and i cant wait to see it for many of our beloved charaters. First, although this is cool, i hope it doesnt take away from all the gestures. He should still have fluid movements to act out what he's saying. If a person ask a question, he should still nod his head while answering yes/no. And i know Mickey is excited, but could use both an inside and outside voice.?

  • This is such a wonderful idea! I can't imagine the technical aspects of getting all the characters to talk, it must be complicated. But to actually have them talk to you...well, I'm 21 and it makes me all giddy and want to go to Disney again even more!

Is that Wayne Allwine I hear?! Brings tears to my eyes...a wonderful touch. =) R.I.P. Wayne, we miss you!

  • I hopoe we get a talking Mickey fro Fantasmic.

  • I want more videos! More videos! I have loved!

  • YAY I LOVE THIS

  • Oh my god!! How exciting for kids... of all ages.

  • Wow!

It's like an animatronic head... puppet... thing... haha Usually this stuff isn't allowed near the guests! SWEET!

  • Unbelievable. When you think of what the Mickey character looked like the day Disneyland opened...

  • That is sooo cool! I want this to be at Disney World! I wish I had Mickey talk to me when I was little.

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • im so impressed that ive seen it at least a metaphorical 100 times

  • Will this be in the ice shows?

I go every year and would love if one of the characters just skated out and said Hi! Welcome to the Show!

  • I would really like to see this with more popular characters like minnie and her friends, pluto, buzz, woody, pooh and maybe one of the villians

  • Well, It's about time!!! I saw this technology in a show from Tokyo Disneyland. It looked great there, looks even better here.

  • Loved it when Mickey had his picture taken. Of course he said, "CHEESE"!!! What else would a mouse say?

  • Took my son to Disney first time at 5 yrs old then again at 6yrs old....I would have cried like a baby if Mickey would have interacted with him like that...the mother's face in the video says it all...I cried just watching her! Disney is as much for the parents as it is for their children! Keep up the awesome work guys!

  • they definitely should get all the characters to talk!

  • OH My GOSH!! when he said the kids' names I freaked!!

  • When I first watched this, my mouth dropped and I was like "oh. my. GOSH!!!!" This would take the magic in the parks to a whole new level if they brought this in. The kids would LOVE this!!!! Man, what will Disney think of next?! I know this probably won't happen for a while, but you know how cool it would be if they could get all of the Fab 5 to talk like this? Wow....

  • They've had this patton/technology since 1994... Crazy!!

  • Disney=EPICNESS!!! WOOT!!!

  • If Walt and Wayne saw this, they would be very happy and proud to see it come true.

  • this is EXACTLY what the park needs!

  • WOW, how do they make his mouth move? That's awesome! It makes the feeling of meeting a character seem even more real. :)

  • I want to be the next voice of mickey...that's been going around my head for years...

  • Oh dear God, I want this to stay at the park!!! Just imagine, if Walt could see all this. :)

  • Amazing..leave it to Disney to bring such "magic" to their guests. I cannot wait until this comes to WDW!

  • This is incredible stuff!

  • 0.0!!!! Wow. This is awesome! I remember watching a show with the characters lips moving and everything. I thought how great it would be to actually see this interacting with the crowd beyond the shows. Now it's finally here! Disney rocks!

  • i guess i'm one of the few who doesn't like it. the best interactions with the characters have to do with the actors pantomiming, and interacting that way... i just think a talking mickey will detract from that quality...

  • @unblownkisses I can understand but I think him talking makes it all the more personal for the kid. He/she can go home and say "Mickey told me. . ."

  • @unblownkisses I'm glad you're in the minority on that issue. This will definitely be better, plus the characters still pantomime just as much, only now its even more real.

  • When are they actually gonna put in the now talking characters in the parks?

  • This will be at DL and WDW for all I know. Idk about Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.

  • I think this is astounding, but many of us have grown used to the silence of these non-face characters. It brings out a special and unique charm that can't be captured through verbal communication...

  • this is absolutely AMAZING

  • That is unbelievable. I can't wait until they make this official at both parks! I wanna talk to Mickey!!!! Haha Disney does it again!

  • this is so amazing!!

this may sound stupid but i was actually about to cry when i heard this.

i love disney and i always have. this amkes me love it even more!

if this comes to the park i bet i will cry.

walt would be the proudest man ever. RIP Walt.

  • @softballfreako and the guy who did the voice from the 1970s

  • @sonicfreak04 - Yes, Wayne Allwine would be proud of this as well.

  • @softballfreako Agree! I would do the same!

  • I knew that the Disney people would do something like this... Walt would be so proud. Knowing that his mouse will make kids and parents happy, on the happiest place on Earth!

  • I'm 18 and I can't wait for this in the parks! :D

  • The only bad thing I could see is that Mickey could blink for the picture... We have enough trouble keeping the kids' eyes open, now we have to worry about the mouse

  • Disney if you can get this in your parks ALL around for EACH character youll make TONS of more money

  • Wow, This is Awsome!! Disney, How do you do it!!! :)

  • as much as i love disney and their inovations to make parks more fun this one though makes me not like people in character costumes more they creep me out

  • THATS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • :O

I'd scream "WAYNE ALLWINE! YOU'RE ALIVE!!!!!" And hug him for hours.

This is indescribable. Walt Disney World Imagineers- you've outdone yourselves AGAIN.

  • Awesome! I hope DLRP will have it quickly!

  • Bring it to Disneyland Paris! The only problem is Mickey would have to speak English, French and maybe Spanish, maybe even German!

  • Bring this to WDW PLEASE!!!!!

  • this is so cute, how the hell did they do this ?
