i find it interesting that "KOKORO" (heart) is translated to "mind". I can assume the word "kokoro" expresses both the mind and heart. How deep and beautiful
=w= dood... give me a freaking pillow man, i could sleep on this, and think... aw man, man, i remember... the past... why? it makes me remember everything in my life... dooood...
Echt schönes Lied und mit den Lyrics gut gemacht. Nur bei 2.30 fehlt der japanische Text, aber es stört nicht viel. ^^ Jedenfalls sehr gut gemacht. xD
@MegaBleachy The movie is called 'Tales from Earthsea' and it is directed by Goro Miyazaki, who is the son of Hayao Miyazaki. Hayao Miyazaki is the Director of Mononoke Hime, so it's not surprising that you find similarities. Both movies are created by the film studio 'Studio Gibli'.
It's veeerryyy nice. I think you got the translation wrong on one part. (NO HATE ON ME PL0X. IM JUST HELPING THIS PERSON D: ) When it says 'kokoro', you translated it as mind. It means heart. Otherwise, you did perfect. It's a beautiful song and you did wonderful <3
kokoro can refer to either heart or mind. kokoro truly refers to one's spirit which is synonymous to heart and mind. (I'm not bashing you, just helping)
@firestarwarrior12853 Well it could be translated as mind since 心 (kokoro) is more of the spiritual/metaphorical heart/mind as opposed to the organ pumping blood around inside you (which would be (心臓 'shinzou'). So it's more up to personal interpretation as to what exactly you translate it as. Don't get me wrong or anything, "heart" is a perfectly good translation, it's just that I wanted to point out that "mind" is necessarily wrong :)
I first heard this on the Japanese radio at the middle of the night and I woke up immediately and wrote down the song to remember to listen to this the next day.
This is an all around amazing video. I love this song, and I love singing it. Even though I don't know ANY Japanese, I can still pronounce the lyrics correctly, so yay! I listen to this song everyday, it's so calming.
@evanalian actually, the truest sense of the word kokoro is somewhere between heart and mind, being that there is no direct equivalent in english, though a close try would be 'soul' there is already another word that translates nicely into 'soul' from Japanese.
In my opinion, in this context, kokoro is best understood as 'mind' here, though it should not be totally separated from the idea of 'heart'.
you can't even imagine how many times a day I listen to that song *_*. And I like to listen it only from this vid, cuz the lyrics and pics are great. Well done, thumbs up and thx ^_-.
Great job with this, I'm so glad you put this up! Thank you! Um, if I could say one thing though, it looks like at about 2:31 you forgot to put the Romaji for a line. It starts with 'Ame'. Sorry for nitpicking, I really am glad you put this up!
@dandelionjp i fell in love with it too, directly after i heared it for the first time. i feel like the hawk sometimes too. awesome vid, love it thx for sharing it with us all!
