Actually, they found and destroyed many tons of explosives, weapons, etc. No, not wmds, but certainly much more than a "firecracker". They also found mass burial cites because Suddam killed many of his own people. President Bush was told by 5 different government agencies - including a non-american agency that Iraq was harboring Wmd's. It didn't help that Suddam himself acted as if that were the case. I'm not a big fan of Bush, but he made a choice based off given intell.
