One mistake.

The door didn't hit the engine when it blew off. The hydraulic cables and the #2 engine cable that were below the floor had snapped off when the floor collapsed due to explosive decompression.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

It's not that people don't act quickly it's the idiots who do repairs the easy way then say "shoulda done it the right way..." after the plane crashes and they know they were working on it. Besides the DC-10 had all hydraulics systems linked together so when 1 of them was cut the fluid would drain out of all 3 systems making flying difficult if not impossible.

And. because of that, the pilots couldn't use the rudder, or raise the any flaps, to bring it back up into the air!

yesterday i was in an Airbus A340-300 (Air France). I was sitting in the middle of the plane and I kept hearing some thumps in the cargo area. I knew there was something banging on the cargo door. I almost pissed my pants throughout the 7 hour flight :( . And to top it off, wheather was poor and there were turbulences :)

you know.....this outwards opening doors are always danger for the planes, the air peressure inside is in a plane more than outside, so you depend yourself on one doorlock. the doors in planes has to open inward, if the door wasnt close properly, the pressure will keep it intact. this kind outward doors are foreprogramming a catastrophe. this was a great manufactural mistake of the production. today the plane doors open inwards.

They did try to blame the ground handler for failing to close the door corectly but in fact McD had poorly designed the door latch shaft and indicator system so that it was possible to close the handle and get good indications but the latches were not being correctly engaged. It all came down to costs. Thats a surprise isnt it?

What are you kidding, I have tried both. The default airplanes look like crap, and the ground looks nothing like FSX, and that is a fact. FSX with full graphics easily wins over x plane. All X plane gives you is better flight dynamics.
