dr689632, CP doesn't cause mental retardation at all. his speech is like that because CP affects the way the brain talks to the muscles. And it takes certain muscles to talk. people with CP are just as smart and as aware as everyone else.
Tom may speak a bit scattered but he doesn't sound very retarted to me. He seems to understand people like you who tease people like him and like he said wants to be loved.
I work at a summer camp for people with disabilities. a few of my faveorite campers experience CP. Its so awesome to have the oppertunity to work with such amazing people.

I can understand the laughs and cries, and all her lil noises. The guy is very hand-some i'm glad you guys are tellin people about cerebral palsy they need to know because anywhere we take her we have adult give us dirty looks and keep their children closer to them. I want to smack those people.
people do need to have an open mind about CP. And i also think some people are still ignorant, because they think they can catch CP. You can't catch it, its something that happens in the fist couple of hours during or after the birth process.
Of the few things I understood, it sounds like a good video. You should add subtitles so everyone can understand him. I am sure people who know him well have no problem, but I only got a few bits out of it.
