any chances your looking for a driver? lol i started racing the nite i turned 16 and won that race. I'm movin to the charolotte area to attend Nascar Technical institute.
Yeah big difference between the local bullring and larger tracks. Used to race 2002-2005 late model at columbus which is a dizzying 1/3 mile. 100 feels fast then raced a few times at mansfield and doesnt seem quite so fast but really gives you a better appreciation of your motorman. Good luck to you in your future endeavors.
haha...enyone believes that needs no skills to drive nascar?lmao...f1 is toy cars in front of nascar...especially with all that auto helps they provide...in nascar is 10% car and 90%driver...goin with 300+ kph in these oval tracks with these cars need lot more than just skills...
It takes a lot more than you think to race stock cars people. It takes a lot of talent, skill, and perseverance, and especially, patience. Racing is more than turning left for several hours. Racing also involves strategy and quite a bit of thinking. People who aren't involved in racing i guess just don't quite understand. Congratulations, Scott Stenzel, and the best of luck to you. I am only 15 years old, but one day, I hope to race stock cars for a living.
Im an aussie and i love Nascar. When it comes to motorsport us aussies are the most ignorant. If its not V8 supercars we aint interested.
But i gotta say i love nascar. Anyone who can spend all afternoon doing those kinds of speeds, 4 wide, into a corner for 2 or more hours has got my vote.
keep up the good work scott. Ill follow your career you seem pretty switched on.
i thought that was awsome. the only time i was on that track was 4 the richard petty driving experiance. i hope u r doin good this season i havent been following much racing this year as i did in the past. but good luck with everything
hey dont let all these little "village Euro" people tell you all that nonsense, nascar is pretty the best racing you can find, and most certainly challenging with how competitive it is today
Hi Scott, please set it up, and I will be inside 10% off your times. Even you have to admit it takes a bit more to race on a road track, but I have respect for your type off racing.
sounds like a fun challenge! I have to admit that I am a big fan of road racing and it is where I tend to shine. There is just more money at this point in USA in turning left :)
Scott, I was a road course fan, but then drove a Petty car around Daytona at 150+mph. I was following the car in front of me, pretty thrilling hitting the first turn full throttle and then coming out of the turn moving to the wall makes the turns light weight. That move to within inches of the wall was pretty scary, then a thrill ride. Bet with 20 cars next to you its a real thrill.
It sure is. The sense of speed goes away though until you spin one out. Once you see how long it takes to slow back down it'll put hair on your chest.
actually it does take skills. get yer ass in a car with someone behind you trying to push you up into car in front of you goin 160 around turns with a guy beside you tryin to run you off the track or run you into the wall. if you can make that left hand turn, i'll shut up
Left, left, left, left, left, left. I just feel like we're goin in circles. But question is, can you turn right just as fast. Good luck though mate, hope ya place well in the series.(WOOT my racecar has got 6 gears, does that mean it goes 1/2 as fast again lol. Australian production car series C Class)
That would be sweet as, do you ever get this way often. Ever heard of Hidden Valley Raceway (Darwin) Northern Territory. Is my home track :)) check him out on the net, we get the V8 supercar series here too. Once a month we meet for local series, would be an honor to have a guest from half a world away. Got a dirt circle next door too if ya prefer the roundy roundy thing. K but must admit my car doesnt sound anywhere quite as sweet as yours does. Is there any full pics of the car?
so ur a race driver from australia bagging nascar - please dont give us a bad name - i'll watch you in the c class next time ur out and see how ur doing........
but just on a non negative level and out of interest, why did u elect to run the production c class where the cars would be fairly expensive over a proper race car i.e. saloons, ipra, etc? im guessing its the enticement of bathurst 12 hour and long races all season?
you being a race driver i wouldnt have expected the typical ignorant nieve quote that was. but a question, why did u spend all ur money on a c class production car when u couldve bought an ipra, saloon, etc for the same price or less? bathurst 12 hour?

on a 1-10 scale how hard is it to control your car over the bumps at daytona?
racerkid2488 2 years ago
not too tough I'd say 5. it's when you are side by side that it gets a little hairy time to time.

When al comes to an end, you are racing, having fun and getting paid, that's what's it's al about.
I have to pay if I what to race, but the I gets to turn left and right, and out break other racers :-)

I averaged 179mph and probably hit about 185 on the straights. Not much off the pace of a Sprint Cup Car.
