there's a slow version of this playing when Cheyenne shows up at the house which was really, really catchy too, can't seem to find it anywhere, anyone come across an upload of it?
Far from greatest film. Actually this film flopped very badly in USA and in many other countries. Just watch the extended version (2 h 58 min) of The Good, The Bad And The Ugly and come after that telling which one is better.
I would claim that another great italowestern is Great Silence by Sergio Corbucci. But it's really brutal, cynic, bleak and agonizing for popcorn gourmands. It's a real test do you understand the genre of italowestern.
if you like ennio morricone music get morricone remixes on cd the first one yellow case its as good as the original ,great stuff ,this track on cd will blow your speakers up
Great movie! I like the way the main characters each have their own music. When Cheyenne dies so does his music.
So many great actors in one film. All of the male main characters are dead, Henry Fonda 1982, Jason Robards 2000 and Charles Bronson 2003, and will always be missed!

Nézem a karom - ép. Nézem a lábam - ugyanaz a szép, hiperbolikus ív: fölülök egy lóra és azt mondja: klikk:), hogy le se tudok esni. Mégis olyan, mintha hiányozna egy tagom.
Well like many Italowestern this movie also is about defeat, decay and an end of an era. "Mr. Choo Choo" / the railroads tamed the West. No more Wild West, no more Cheyenne.
Poor Cheyenne. One of my favourite movie characters ever. I adore his humor and his old-school honor. He may be a bandit, but he's a honest man, a man who symbolizes the old West. In this new world, with trains and capitalism, he couldn't live. And Morton killing him is also symbolic. Like the car in Cable Hogue. :(
cheyenne is one of my favourite characters ever jason robards is a great actor if you like him check him out in a sam peckinanpah western called cable hogue

Harmonica: The reward for this man is 5000 dollars, is that right?
Cheyenne: Judas was content for 4970 dollars less.
Harmonica: There were no dollars in them days.
Cheyenne: But sons of bitches... yeah.

i agree with Sieglinde. Cheyenne is old-school.
his death is symbolic in so many ways..
and this scene is probably one of the most melodramatic and exciting scenes ever.

Jason Robards at his best! the film wouldn't be as good without him.Shame, they don't make actors like that anymore.

Cheyene's character was a good one, I loved the scene where he scolds the guy in the tavern, "No, you don't know how to play"
Nice touch by harmonica to take cheyene off with him into the sunset to be buried elsewhere.
